Well, that was hardly thrill-a-minute stuff, and I have the ignominy of @KRG being able to grind my face into the dirt, rather than the other way round. The first-choice team looks decent; a few replacements here and there will be OK, wholesale changes won’t. But then Southgate won’t be doing that again anyway.
Not too many bright spots, though I thought Loftus-Cheek looked good again. But very much a non-match in truth.

James Rodriguez was subbed in the first half for Colombia. Doubtful he’ll be fit for the England game.

One other thought from last night - how good was Harry Maguire when he came on?
Loads of composure on the ball and confidentially bringing the ball through midfield.
V impressed.
Still looks like an accountant though.

He was trying to play to Vardy’s “strengths” or should I say the style suited to Vardy’s game…
Previously this England team has had the ball on the deck and passed and played through the other teams because that’s the style that suits Kane.
Doens’t work for Vardy though, he’s a pacy, chase the ball over the top Schlongesque type player.

Anyway last night just showed our “B” team couldn’t beat their “B” team, and that was only because of a great finish from them, otherwise would have petered out to a draw.
