Anyone played the beta version yet?

Is it any good or just a rehash of the old game with a new skin and a couple of tweeks?

From what I can tell it looks the same but you can make someone who looks like you want to look like to stand on the side line and shout stuff, easier to use set pieces and you can make a cup or league with other weirdos online.

Is that it or is it worth it?

p.s. I soooo missss MLG trying to do the hard sell on it. I would then say how crap it looks, end up buying it, hate it for a while, install 3rd patch around Feb, and then spend the rest of the year either playing it or in rehab.

I’ve played it a bit.

It is mostly a rehash, it always is. But it is quite a good rehash, can’t think of any features off the top of my head that are particularly new or striking though?

Mostly just UI stuff, which although confusing at first, I think are improvements.

#3

People are always asking for MLG. If anyone knows him, go get him. I’ve tried twice on behalf of others.

#4

I tried on Twitter once, he blanked me. I think he sees me as a rival.

:lou_sad:

#5

I am always trying to hassle him. I think he might have blocked me. I got him to post in the muppet show for a while. This was such and acheivement I practically put it on my CV.

#6

+1000 points for anybody that gets MLG along to a pre-match meet.

#7

Forget all that, can we talk about boxing a bit more?

I don’t think we have enough threads dedicated to it.

#8

Why don’t we have more threads about meeting for a drink, then in drink meeting thread, then after meeting threads RB? Then maybe a few more in jokes about what happened in the meetings?

Code red! Code red! Code red!

MLG is down as a registered abuser on Saints web. This is like he is on the free transfers list - make your move Pap!

#9

Mid-season signings are fraught with danger…

#10

I just wish they’d bring FM out on the Vita again. It wasn’t without issues but I’m sure they could iron a lot of those out with another run at it. It was essentially FM Classic in your hand and thus far more fully-featured than the mobile version.

#11

The mobile versions are getting better, they offer cross save now. Which is a pretty good feature.

Think the problem with Vita, is it’s a small market. It’s a cracking little console, but there’s just not a big enough market to make it worthwhile. It’s a real niche product now.

*Sorry, I’m always going to stick up for mobile games :lou_lol:

Sure, but there’s still an install base of over 4m Vitas in Europe. Plus you’re looking at £30 per sale as opposed to £6.99.

You are the Pete Doherty of virtual reality gaming - if you’re going to live life that far on the edge, Toke, don’t fall off.

* Bletch is answering the question he suspects that Toke meant to ask, because presumably someone, somewhere will have played it.

I don’t know about that Raleigh Boy, but there’s just not enough songs about squash…

#15

MLG spotted in the wild? :lou_lol:

#16

They can work out though like me :lou_lol:

#17

When you say “anybody”, can I invite myself and collect the points?

#18

Yes.*

*Please bear in mind that I have no authority to administer said points.

#19

Where are the points redeemable?

It’ll be me that sorts these things out, generally. I create badges which confer points when people post the next time. ant has no right to be offering points, btw. We’ll be having a “chat” at the pub (bletch, bring the boltcutters).
