CONFIRMED: #MUFC have offered Southampton £11m for José Fonte. The Portuguese international and Saints captain has asked us to accept.
If true - take it. Football is an assets and money ball game. Loyalty is something for the Customers.
I am sure the black box has 2 or 3 replacements lined up, the salary savings alone will allow extra depth to come in.

Even at this point of proceedings the club won’t say that nobody is for sale. Instead, seemingly giving the green light for silly/‘eye watering’ offers.
Chances are we will come out of the media transfer storm okay as always, but fuck me, it’s a ball ache enduring it at times!

I’m kind of trying to get back to make amends.
My “window of opportunity” is Boxing Day. I have to be in Poland on 27th morning and in Salisbury on 25th so that is a gaping open goal.
Just I know that within 10 seconds of me booking my flight to Poland Sky will go and change the kick off for TV and I’ll have sod all to do on 26th and worse could have saved 60 quid IF I had flown the day before.
Such is the life of an expat I guess. Bit like poor Eric being back for 3 weeks and having no games he can get to. Still hoping for somewhere close to us in the Europas - one of the 'Stans or Malta/Greece/Cyprus, but if I wait untik then to book and and
Sod it I should have just told a Golf Story, would have been shorter and simpler

Down visiting the folks on the Waterside and am perusing the Daily Echo. Back page report by Adam Leitch says, and I paraphrase:
Saints optimistic about keeping Fonte as Daily Echo “understands” the club has had no contact from any other clubs, and have certainly not opened preliminary talks with Manure as had been suggested…Saints are very keen to keep him…blah, blah,…key player, blah blah, big pay rise etc etc
On the face of it very positive, but coming from DE it’s probably completely wrong.
If the club have had no approaches then where do the stories come from? Agents? other clubs? Media trying to make up a story?
That is the way it usually works.
Until it gets on to Sky Sports I refuse to wet my bed.

This transfer window still being open after the start of the season is farcical. We had this last year with Wanyama sulking and making himself unplayable for the europa qualifiers…
Why the teams couldn’t have concluded all of this prior to Saturday is a joke.
