Welll think about it.
If you are in the top 6 it would make sense for the discussion.
outside it no need.
The 3 splitters are probably run by Idiots who dont understand the realities of the real world.
Modern football hey, load of crap.
I donāt think modern football is crap, I think itās quite a simple game and some teams are better at it than others.
The running of football these days is appaling though.
If this goes through I can see the Premier League ending up like the Spanish and German leagues but with maybe 4/5 teams instead of 2!!
Sort of like it is now reallyā¦
Doesnāt not signing up to this show a dispicable lack of ambition by our club? Surely, if youāre ambitious and shooting for the top four then you should actively want to have different levels of TV money depending on where you finish - weāre run like a seaside B&B and I for one am sick of it. Whereās the ambition? Whereās the drive? We should want to CRUSH the pretenders and alsorans. We should be saying āFuck it, no TV money for anyone who finishes outside the top fourā. Thatāll sort the men out from the boys. Itās the Southampton Way and I will hand back my season ticket it we donāt back this glorious scheme.
Iād love to see it end up like German football, good national team, 51% ownership of the clubs by fans, great stadiums, brilliant atmospheres, fair pricing and safe standing.
Some modern football is better than others, ours is crap.
The Southampton way is a plastic flag with a plastic scarfer from Rumsey attending the game by motor vehicle on a Saturday afternoon to avoid spending time with Valerieā¦
As a competition the Bundesliga is shit, just like Spain. The treatment of fans on the other hand, is something we could learn a lot from.
Iām sorry but I think youāre missing the point of our NO vote.
We are and will remain supremely ambitiousā¦the NO vote entirely altruistic to support those poor souls who can only look up to us with humble envy.
We occupy, with this vote the lofty moral high ground, much higher than those who vote YES in a shockingly self-serving fashion.
Give yourself a pat on the back * for supporting the ONLY team in The Premier League who voted selflessly.
*Bazza excused any action he might consider supportive.
We wonāt though.
Iām off to see FC Augsberg vs Hannover 96 next month. Tickets cost 27 Euros which is a decent price. Last year I saw Shalke but that was closer to 50 Euros. The first time I went to Germany to watch football (about 5-6 years ago) the ticket cost 17 Euros. So even their prices have gone up quite a lot but itās still decent value.
Fucking hell, Iāve been going to Leyton Orient fairly often the last few years (the stadium is about 10 mins walk from my flat) and even in League 2 the tickets were Ā£25.
EDIT: @fatso how easy is it getting tickets for games in Germany? Iād love to try and get over there and see a few games.
Agreed.
Not claiming the EPL is perfect, by any stretch, but it is by far the most competitive league around. That doesnāt mean itās the best quality, or the most technical, but itās certainly the most competitive.
A big part of that is the even distribution of funds. Has to be kept that way.
Apart from Red Bull Leipzig appear to have got around those rules somewhat!!
Sellers market, charge what the punters will payā¦
Surprisingly easy. Iāve never bought them myself, a friend does that but. My job is accomodation! Thereās 11 of us going this time. Every club we have been to has been incredibly accomodating and love the fact that we come from England to see them. I know my friend starts off with a phone call followed up by an email and always pretends that weāre some UK based supporters group. They all speak English which helps! The fans over there are also fascinated that we come to watch games every year and usually to some slightly odd game, like Augsburg.
FFP as I have always said is a load of bollocks, a toothless tiger, this is another example or moneyed one not organic growth.
Haha sounds great. Thanks dude.
My (admittedly, limited) experience of German folk is that they are often curious of āoutsidersā perceptions of them and their ways of doing things. I guess that fits in with this.
Well, that was somewhat shit. Iāve never seen a goalkeeper kick the ball out for a corner from his own goalkick.
The price was actually ā¬25
