šŸ“½ Films I have seen

But seriously.
6 Underground - Limited Release & Netflix is a strange movie.
Some of the best jaw dropping action scenes & use of Parkour.
Some great moments.
Some woeful attempts to make Abu Dhabi Hong Kong & mish mash to make Ras al Khamaih be in Abu Dhabi.
Some awful editing early doors make it hard to follow.
So in summary, the 1st half is a mess. 2nd half is almost the levels of adrenaline Saints put in today against Spurs.
It could have been a classic Action Movie but instead became enjoyable.
It will become a Franchise, but not Fast & Furious.
Worth a watch with beer after a hangover just for some epic movie deaths early doors

Vietnam Vet aged about 70 gets angry.
Only tension is against whom.
Yeah John Rambo is back.
An evening of what it says on the tin.

I’m voting for @Polski_Filip as the next Barry Norman, if it’s all the same to you.

And why not?

Crack on. Honestly I couldn’t face another 2 hours of the film. Does anything else happen that I cannot read about somewhere?

Why not try watching it in three bits?

It’s what I tend to do with these three hour epics, and one of the reasons I don’t go to the cinema to watch them.

Though I usually love Scorsese films I’m finding another one with De Niro, Pacino and Pesci in as a bit tedious. I’m not a fan of any of them. Tried Scarface, also gave up. My interested in Mafia also has decreased.
I have a long flight next weekend so it may go on the tablet for another go.

Off to see 174 min La Dolce Vita in the cinema tomorrow. See how that goes.

Scarface is De Palma to be fair to Scorsese.

I have not seen The Irishman yet, but some of his other movies are among my favourites, especially Goodfellas.

It was more the point about Pacino.

Goodfellas is pretty much my favourite film.

There is a Federico Fellini season on at the BFI. Did a bit of Italian film studies at uni on my course and there are some cracking Italian films about.
Went to see La Dolce Vita which I have on DVD but not watched in years and never seen in the big screen. It’s been remastered and was in 4k.
Beautiful.
I didn’t fall asleep even though it was 3 hours, I was comfy in the dark. My friend did fall asleep.

I watched Cimino’s Heaven’s Gate last night, full version in Blu Ray having last seen it some 30 years ago when the BBC decided to show it late one night in full. It’s always going to be a Marmite film, I love it, others hate it. Just a beautifully shot film.

Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood.

A typical, rambling Tarantino film with an ending that is typically Tarantino.

How it has got nominated for any Oscars though is beyond me…

The forum waits with baited breath for a film that @BTripz likes

I didn’t say I didn’t like it, I just don’t understand how it got nominated for any Oscars.

Anyway I liked the Rise of Skywalker…

Hmm, it has Laura Dern in it, however that is offset by having Emma Watson in it…

Zombieland - Double Tap.

Not as good as the first, in fact it’s only redeeming feature is Emma Stone, still has some funny moments in it but not one I’d got out of my way to watch…

1917. As you may have heard, this is brilliant. Edge of seat / literally gripping for the majority of the film, fantastic cinematography and great to see two minor names in the lead roles. Short cameos throughout by various stars, of which Mark Strong is the standout.

Been watching Terminator : Dark Fate…

Not got to the end yet, not really bothered if I don’t watch the end to be honest.

Why they dragged Linda Hamliton out of retirement is beyond me, she looks like a more desiccated Mark Hamill and her acting hasn’t improved in her years off screen…

Your’ll be back
