šŸ“½ Films I have seen

Not even married, but yeah we’ve been together years. I more just figured it was a date with someone who you’ve been with for a while? I may have misused it.

What game were you playing BBB?

Blossom Blast…WTF is this waiting 3 days between stages shit though? (yeah, yeah I know an excuse to encourage me to spend money)

Been watching ā€˜ā€˜CHAPPIE’’ by the team that did the excellent ā€˜ā€˜District 9’’ and has the same vibe. V good and often thought provoking…

ā€˜ā€˜if you are my maker, why did you make me so that I would die?’’

If Ted was a woman and I wasn’t a cunt, I’d woo him and win him.

Watch the film here…it’s bloody brilliant. Loved it.

Hey Fatso, thanks fella, glad you enjoyed it  It’s DVD screener season

All of the movies deemed Oscar worthy are distributed to Academy voters, some of which of course end up online. Watched The Revenant last night, and Sicario & Hateful 8 tonight. Only got through two thirds of the Hateful 8 as it was a bit too self indulgent, will finish watching tomorrow. Looks great though and the soundtrack is pretty amazing (Ennio Morricone). Yes that guy who scored all the spaghetti western movies and I kinda assumed had died.

Sicario was really good.

If you know where to look you can get Sicario as a BluRay rip.

I’ve seen Creed, Hatefull Eight, Revenant, the Moby Dick one (trailers looked awesome), Legend (Tom Hardy), Joy, Steve Jobs, The Good Dinosaur, Charlie Brown etc. etc. etc. all available at different places.

Anyhoo, watched AntMan last night and, to quote Bearsy, what a load of CapeShit, nice SFX, nice tie in to the Avengers but…

Sweet. That site has pretty much everything I need to see.

I watched Kill The Messenger last night, with Jeremy Renner starring. Was the true story of Gary Webb, a journo from a modest US newspaper who in the mid 90s broke the story of the CIA’s alleged role in importing crack cocaine into the U.S. to secretly fund the Nicaraguan contra rebels.

Despite enormous pressure to stay away, Webb chose to pursue the story and went public with his evidence. What followed was a vicious smear campaign fueled by the CIA and aided by the biggest newspapers in the country. Gripping, eye opening and very well acted.

Jeremy Renner and acting? Nah, don’t believe you :lou_sunglasses:

Safe to say it’s a very different type of film to his prior work. Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia feature too.

Watched Sicario the other day, thought it was really good. Unsettling and almost dystopian despite the fact that this stuff is really happening under our noses.

Just finished Creed this evening, thought it was great. Fairly middle of the road up until about 2/3 of the way through. The final fight scene (at Goodison Park no less) is fucking sublime though. Every blow, every crunch, every scrape is so visceral you can almost feel it. Not a big fan of boxing or actually the Rocky films, but that’s my favourite scene in a film this year - like the final drum solo was in Whiplash last year. Worth watching just for that really!

Just watched No Country for Old Men again, for the first time in many years, with Bucks Junior (16). Quality work no doubt, nice that I had forgotten most of it.

Thanks to the joys of Pirate Bay and preview DVDs going ā€œmissingā€ of their way to jurnos I’ve watched The Danish Girl, which was a fantastic film, Bridge of Spies which was well acted but average and the Revenant, which, just might, win LdC an Oscar.

We’ve The Hateful Eight and Joy to watch over the weekend.

Good lord, a typical Coen brothers’ film, I wouldn’t make my worst enemy watch it…

I watched the Revenant last night, based on other peep’s recommendations, and I must admit that it’s not my sort of film.

Good acting but slow pace and little dialogue had me bored to tears, the director seemed more for the panoramic shots. Don’t get me wrong there were some good scenes in the film and some were well filmed but I feel the whole film could have been wrapped up in half the time.

I then watched ā€œMad Max - Fury Roadā€ and that was utter shite. Tom Hardy showed non of the acting skills that he had in the Revenant!

Watched Bridge of Spies last night. Was good, particularly if you like the Cold War issues, but not as impactful as it could have been. Tom Hanks was very good as usual.

Will be watching Sicario tonight, bring it on.

Kingsmen… not sure what to make of it, but the scene in the church was funny :lou_surprised:

Oh and the princess up the arse joke was also mildly amusing…

I got to say that I like the Coen brothers very much and enjoyed No Country For Old Men.

Pulp Fiction is on Dave, so I’m watching it.

Fury Road is awesome. Not really sure how anyone can watch that and conclude utter shite. That’s actually worse than when my geeky mate who loves to complain about stuff (and insist that there is a better, Japanese alternative available) wrote off the Matrix Reloaded’s freeway chase as unjustifiably dull.

George Miller pretty much reminded everyone of how action movies should be done in that flick. I thought it was excellent.
