Step outside of Barryworld for a moment mate and you’ll see nobody is sneering at remembrance or at people who wear poppies with pride.
The only question you need to ask yourself is why you have allowed a symbol of remembrance of all war dead to be hijacked in recent years to also be the symbol of support for wars / conflict that are dubiously justifiable and possibly borderline illegal. Soldiers don’t have the choice where they fight, but politicians decide where they send them.
I guess you must be comfortable in essentially giving your consent for politicians to send people to die in conflicts which I and many others don’t think we should be involved in?
