At least we were not embarassed
Never looked remotely like scoring.
3 more points in the league and we can put this fucking shit show to bed and regroup.
Shit. He’s been shit. Cannot believe that was the final ball
This. 100%
Finally.
Back to beating Spurs time
At least we can concentrate on the league now
No guts, no desire, no heart, no skill, no imagination, no urgency, no rising to the occasion, no shots on target, no respect earned, nothing deserved, nothing to look forward to, what a load of fucking shit for the biggest game of our season.
Total shite. Vestergaard the only one who looked up for it. Starting to lose patience with RH. Next season looking ominous already, with out recent form.
How to say I knew that was coming.
The players & club have been focused on the cup since forever, then, on the day, they froze.
Now that weight is off the shoulders, all the squad (bar sorely missed Romeu) are fit we can start playing in the League.
2 tough games to come. But time to move on and give Jankewitz some game time
Some of his passing, or misplaced passes were terrible
Our lack of any discernible ‘Plan B’ is quite evident.
We need to get over the line and regroup, rebuild and rethink in the summer.
I for one will not miss watching Saints for a few months to be honest. It’s becoming quite the chore.
For me, the switch is really simple.
Armstrong comes more inside with JWP & Diallo and we have a rotating 3 up front. Not rocket science, Armstrong plays in that #10 role a lot anyway
I’m out on a limb, I know, but the tactics were ok. Against Leicester you can’t press high and go gung-ho in attack. They’ll catch you with the long ball to Vardy. Like Son in the 2nd half against Spurs. We were just beginning to look threatening and being more forward looking when one ball to Vardy, Bednarek gets done, shot off target bounces back off Vestergaard for a tap-in. Then Leicester could sit back and then they’re very hard to break down and dangerous on the break.
The only thing I’d have done differently (apart from starting Adams and maybe Walcott) would have been to play Vestergaard at CF for the last 20.
Agree with that tactically.
I disagree about Adams though. We won NOTHING in the centre of the park against their 3 CB’s. Our only hope was pace on the ground. We set up perfectly for that but imho, nerves got the better of Djneppo & Redz and with Armstrongs runs. Both Redz & Moussa are great players but also very emotive.
Having their 1st touches freeze with nerves meant we couldn’t execute, Armstrong made the runs but had no support.
Also Bertrand has been shit for weeks and JWP has had back to back bang average games.
God bless Covid for not wasting our time & money going to watch that
Morning after. Doesn’t feel any less shit but got a day’s work to contend with too. I hate Mondays.
The key was that none of Redmond, Armstrong, Djenepo or Walcott were able to run at and penetrate the defence. You have to give Leicester some credit for that. And Ings was running at half throttle. I’m really beginning to think he’s avoiding an injury that might scupper a move.
