The Pistols played afternoon gigs for children’s institutions back in the day. There are some quite poignant photos of them having fun with the kids, especially the pics of Sid. Lydon has never really fitted the stereotype punk image, and these days he seems mainly driven by the tragedy of his wife’s dementia/Alzheimer’s. I think that’s what his Eurovision song entry is about.
