I mean, really, what sort of idiot would :-
a) Spend £5.25 on a milkshake? then
b) Throw it over someone rather than drink it?

And Banana?
Afluent Remainers that think nothing of a fiver. Really donāt blame that lad for soaking Robinson and his gang of thugs. As a general form of organised protest?
Well, let me put this diplomatically. It truly does show the strength, or lack thereof, of the remaining Remainersā position.
Because ONE person thew a shake, you suggest this is a weak position for all remainersā¦? you have used this technique repeatedly during this debate, yet when the odd remained has done so (as in suggesting all brexiteers must be bigots and racists for voting the same as the bigots and racists), you have rightly criticised⦠It just makes your arguments look ridiculous, full off fluff and mock outrageā¦
Itās becoming something of a thing, and there are plenty of Remain folk praising such actions.
What next? Acid attacks?
Interesting article looking at the situation(Brexit, not the upcoming vote and please choose the spoil option on the dayš).
Iāll be honest, I like it because it places all the blame where iāve said all along. EROEI. We may need an energy thread soon, itās the underlying reason for most of the others. People seem to becoming more aware and the environment problems are only really a symptom.
This bit might tempt you inš
āThe referendum marked the first occasion in Britainās history when the culturally liberal middle-class, which orbits London and the university towns, had lost. Until this point, the advocates of double liberalismāa globalized economy accompanied by a highly liberal immigration policyāhad gotten all they had wanted. Business got a continuing influx of mass cheap labour that fed a consumption-driven growth model that not only removed incentives for investing in training but exacerbated divides between the high and low-skilled. The liberal middle-class got economic benefits alongside Polish cleaners and membership of the dominant value set but became increasingly detached from the āleft behind.
The election of Donald Trump just five months later demonstrated that this was anything but a small setback or a local difficulty. Unfortunately, most unthinking neoliberals responded in the very worst way possible. While a few sought to understand the coalition of forces that had produced the result, most simply tried to ignore what had happened. The Brexit referendum, we were told, āwas only advisory.ā The Leave campaigners, they explained, āhad lied.ā The people, they argued, ādidnāt understand what they had voted for.ā In the UK, neoliberals turned to the courts in an attempt to strike down the referendum result while in the USA they turned to conspiracy theories and attempts to overturn the Constitution to evict Trump from the White House."

haha⦠there you go again⦠shall I respond with the shit your racist bedfellows get up to?
Please donāt lecture me about racism. My mumās name is Soraya, Iāve got two bi-racial siblings and used to get called a Paki when I was young on account of my grandfatherās place of origin.
I know where it comes from, and how to deal with it constructively when it rears its head. Iād say my methods are a tad more effective than voting for the EU, which letās not forget, is a fairly fucking racist endeavour in itself.
Itās internationalism looks a tad weak if you consider Africa and Asia as components of planet Earth.
Cheers for that link. The bit you quoted points massively to my frustration and I daresay anger at the reaction to the unexpected vote to Leave.
To be sure, there are plenty of racists that voted Leave. Iām not so certain all of them did, as most Remainers seem to think. I daresay that a lot of those racists have the sort of criminal record thatād prevent you from travelling. Freedom of movement might be the only thing guaranteeing them a foreign holiday
In general, the thing has been cognitive dissonance writ large from the mainstream media. Theyāve genuinely got to a point where they are projecting rather than reflecting, same thing with a lot of centrists too, so it is no surprise theyāve sought alternative explanations as enumerated above.
The most important thing to remember is that Britain is not very racist in general. , especially as compared to the early 1980s, when social attitude surveys indicated a majority of white parents would object to their offspring bringing a black partner home.
That figure was 12% the last time it was asked, and I would argue that a fraction of that isnāt racist per se, just driven to maintain perceived societal norms amongst peer groups.
The glorious news is that most parents donāt seem to give a fuck who their children bring home. I was only seven when that first survey was published.
Being of a slightly older vintage, I reckon youāve probably got a much better angle on our progress than I do. Despite the bumps, perhaps because of the bumps, we have come a very long way in 37 years since that first survey was taken.
Thatās why Iām not going to worry about Britain becoming an island of racism. We largely said bollocks when it was the official government policy of other major European states, even when Moseley and his blackshirts took to the streets.
If we didnāt fall for it then, weāll not fall for it now, especially when weāve had half a century to get used to people coming from all corners of the globe.
This Country is miles ahead of most places around the globe, not perfect but better than most backward shitholes.
our remain household do not agree with throwing milkshakes even if they are at right wing gits.
Cunt(highlighted).
It would depend how you look at it. Personally i find the general treatment of the" other" quite bad in this country, but not with generation z(as the people profiting out of them call people born after 1995). They are far more open about and interested in the āotherā. Older generations hide it behind polite words and finger pointing(always at the āotherā of course). Not all, but a larger majority than most will admit.
My personal experience would put England second to last after the USoWH, but iām white and am born with an elevated position(sad but true), so no real idea what itās like for most of my fellow humans.
I mention generation z because your thoughtful reply didnāt address the whole point of the article. Where we are, is where we were always going to be(economically).
The arguments, although i agree with you about the ECB and the commission, are an irrelevance if you donāt address the addiction to energy(all of Europe. We have very little). Going it alone is fine and with the shit coming, might even be preferable, if people understand what that means and it doesnāt mean selling the little we have left to the evangelicals.
Back on topic, voting for Farage is just wrong. Take the single issue away and what views do you share with him?. Spoil the paper.
Edit:Iām obviously drunk/stupid as iāve lost the ability to highlight. Oh well, best not to waste any energy on it.
Your bias and hatred for your nation has never been more apparent than this post.
That said there are some right intolerant cunts in this nation I have to agree.
Good input Barry. Bit same old, same old though. Try freshening it up a bit.
Bet your voting public school boy(already identified as a racist) Farage party. Wonder why?
Because I am a democrat, Labour whoāll I vote in the general election (even though that is pointless due to FFP) have betrayed their supporters who voted leave, they can get to fuck, so can Farage as well to be fair, protest vote and bollocks to them all.
You do have a history of supporting intolerant people, nations and causes, Iād have thought the Brexit Party would be right up your street SOS.
Are you spoiling the paper? Thatās the best protest vote(have to count, so canāt dismiss as couldnāt be bothered). Iām very tempted with this choice(that or labour) because of simple implications for democracy. Care to join me?
Oh dear Barry, that neddle is stuck in that groove and nothing is budging it.
When you say intolerant, do you mean of mass murderers and their apologists?
I spoiled in the locals a few weeks ago, this is a protest AGAINST the main parties denying democracy by not honouring the vote.
Theyāre going to take a battering, there are people its said who voted remain and are voting for the Brexit Party in protest, fair play, apparently they have a candidate in East England who voted remain is standing (from LBCās Ferrari/Farage interview).
Theyāre going to get a kicking and rightly so.
