If there isn’t something wrong with their psychology why do top quality players lose the plot on this stage? Rooney is not a bad player and is vastly experienced yet he looked like a Sunday park player in the second half the other day. Everyone has been creaming themselves about Spuds this year. We pick half of their team and they look nothing. These people play at a high level every week. That is all they do. Play football. They shouldn’t have to be told what to do. Quality players should be able to work out what to do against Iceland. You don’t need complicated systems. Football is a simple game. Our lot just look paralysed with the fear of losing.

I can definitely see Harry Kane as a perfect long term replacement for Rooney.
He’ll score shedloads of goals against Armenia and the Solomon Islands in glorious qualifying games but he has already demonstrated that at a proper tournament he runs as if towing a tractor tyre and is incapable of taking a fucking corner.

My prediction…Wales 1 - 2 Portugal
Fonte and Cedric start again.
I really hope Wales win but I’m not sure that will happen. I think it will be close. Wales will really miss Ramsay.
Cedric looks excellent going forward…put in a couple of really decent crosses…

Yeah but I’m trying to put a positive spin on it…Fonte has looked solid…Cedric getting involved with most of Portugal’s attacks down the right. Saint’s lads the outstanding players for me in that first half.
