Impressed by the performance.
Disappointed with the selection of certain players (and the omission of others).
Don’t really buy this “great going forward shit defending” because we were decent in both disciplines.
Unlucky sucker-punch. But we tried to manage the game by sitting back and defending. We failed.
And this, in a game we’d dominated going forwards for 80 minutes.

For the next England game against Wales, I would not change much. Vardy for Sterling I would love to see.

Rooney had a decent game, albeit against a team that let him have loads of time.
Defensively, and turing defence into attack through the fullbacks, I thought we were really sound.
Again, all of this against pretty poor opponents.
Can’t argue with your criticism of Sterling though. The one thing he is in the team to do, he apparently refuses to do.
And that’s beat a man and create an attacking option.
