EU - In or Out? The big vote 23rd June 2016

Where the fuck did you find that abomination???

It’s so wrong on levels I didn’t even know existed.

I take it all back about Sam Smith, suddenly he looks talented.

It was already posted on the Brexit thread.

I saw it on Twitter.

oh was it soz

I see the French Interior Minister has waded into the debate saying that if we left then they would probably remove the French side border controls at Calais and as a result the migrants would flood across the border.

A couple of points. First, I don’t think it is necessarily helpful for European leaders to tell the UK what is good for them or to make threats - that will just get peoples backs up. We have enough of our own politicians and business leaders peddling shite by the bucketload.

Secondly if they did remove the border controls then we could still control that border. You could place an onus on the ferry operators and tunnel operators to screen passengers. A threat to fine them £10k for every illegal who got through, they would implement there own controls - a bit like the airlines who don’t allow you to board without the correct visa / esta. It won’t stop those who cross hanging onto the underside of lorries etc, but then the current system doesn’t stop that either.

I could see France taking a very ‘relaxed’ attitude to security if it meant clearing their land and passing the problem on to someone who didn’t want to be part of their club.

And I think we have to accept that we are unpopular and the rest of Europe will take every opportunity to give us a good kicking if we stick two fingers up.

While actual facts on what might happen are scarce, I just believe we have to work WITH these countries, for our own selfish reasons.

We don’t have to like them, just pretend we do.

Stuart Rose had a tough day at the Commons yesterday - Got into a proper muddle

The key soundbite though was that he admitted that leaving the EU would likely increase the wages for the lowest paid - however he did qualify this by saying that isn’t always a good thing.

I am enjoying being “out” of this one. Watching the daily nonsense spouted by both sides, and watching them totally ignore legitimate questions from Interviewers while they simply restate their mantras reminds me of how fvcked up “Democracy” really is.

When I see one of those talking heads actually ANSWER a question from a Little Old Lady or Small Shopkeeper I’ll duck out the way.

In the interim, without taking ANY side in the debate I’ll just look around and post occassional rants or snippets I find Odious, Humourous or stuff that just makes me wish Saddam or Ghadafi were in charge of the Planet. :lou_sunglasses:

Here’s a rant from the Fail. She does have a point

Who cares about Brexit EU is gonna collapse anyway rant from the Fail

(Note. While my actual opinion on the EU is too distant to add into a debate, I DO have a pretty major issue being married to a Polish Citizen and with a plan to (when I reach 97 and can afford it) retire to Poland. So for me the Right of Employment/Residence is a pretty damned key issue. So I have a side in the debate but I have a problem as well!)

I see Donald Tusk has ask the people coming over to Europe not to if possible, that’ll work Don nice one lad.

So France would allow people to pass through? What about EU law? What about the processing delays at Calais and the delays to frieght? It benefits them as much as us, lets not forget we can send refuse asylum cases back.

The threat is hollow and one of desperation, this will increasingly happen as the out campaign are on the right path and know we have been fleeced for far too long by Brussels and the gang of two that is Germany and France.

Europe is failing and it everyone for themselves, its gone, its dead, we aren’t working together we are working against each other, just leave it, its gone.

I reckon we should duke it out with Europe in a Big War, like they used to in the Old Days. Winner takes all.

Our lack of action could lead us to war against Russia, where was the EU concering the defence of Crimea? We sold the Ukranians down the river.

I see Mr Rose agrees with me concerning low wages, immigration and its the low earner worker who suffers, I wonder if any of our “socialists” on here would care to comment?

My position has never changed I’ll add.

I think this is what he is talking about

I got the impression that Stuart Rose isn’t used to Having to justify himself as much as had to, and doesn’t like it one bit

Are you going to keep posting the same comment until someone bites?

France can fuck off. They’ve allowed the Calais situation to happen, allowed it to become a political hot potato and are now threatening us with it? Do one, lads.

I would sooner take every single refugee at Calais than crumble under “threats” like this. Fuck France. The ideals of the Republic they setup have been dead a long time.
