:uefa_logo: :engerland: England Euros Squad (because, you know, there's no other nationality on this forum)

Announcement ongoing… but why pick 33 and then cull to 26 disappointing 7 players? Other countries have just gone straight their 26 so all can focus on training… we seem to do this all the time… not sure it adds anything and just makes may players unsettled?

JWP is IN
INGS is off on hols…

Other countries, particularly your homeland haven’t got 3 teams playing in European finals this week.

Wouldn’t have enough players for training games or the first friendly.

Fair point, but we do it every tournament regardless of European finals.

England’s provisional 33-man squad in full

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Man Utd), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Sheff Utd)

Defenders: John Stones (Man City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Kyle Walker (Man City), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Reece James (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Ben Godfrey (Everton), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Ben White (Brighton)

Midfielders: Mason Mount (Chelsea), Declan Rice (West Ham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds), Jesse Lingard (Man Utd), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Raheem Sterling (Man City), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Mason Greenwood (Man Utd), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

No way Ings gets a game anyway with those strikers.

Not sure I agree with that, but then no Bamford either. 17 goals, 7 assists, not in a 33 man squad. Nuts

I think Ings is cleverer striker than Watkins and offers more.

Watkins is almost certainly going to be chopped when the squad size is reduced.

But still surprising Ings is left out.

But on the plus side, at least he’s picked five right backs. Nice one Gareth :+1:t2:

Too many Bens for me.

Ings’ link up play is exceptional when fit and confident. His finishing is top draw. He just didn’t string enough games together towards the end.

Last season’s Ings - nailed on.
Start of this season - probably
After injuries his form isnt back yet - understandable

I don’t think JWP is going to make the final cut. That he played every minute in our system works against him.

Baring injury to others or proving physiological to the sports science team he’s up to it.

Got to worth a squirt for his dead ball ability alone.

I think it depends on whether or not Henderson is fit enough to start. Which I doubt.

JWP can also play right back. Southgate obviously loves a right back.

He did score two cracking goals three games ago.
