They didnāt offer Root the light. They just waited for him to bring Woakes on and then made the call. If he had kept himself and Moeen on they would have carried on.

I think he took a punt with the spinners to see if they could get anything, they didnāt and they started leaking a few runs so decision made.

Thatās my point. There was no need to revert to spin. The minute he called up Woakes, the light meter was straight out and off they went.
We legged it straight away, before the game was called off and made it to a nearby pub. Got seats to watch the footy.
