🏏 :engerland: England Cricket 2021

49-1
Burns gone for 25.
49 overs to go
224 to get
Ball is swinging & the occassional worm shagger is appearing.
It’s a hang on game

Crawley with a horrid flat footed attempt at a drive is gone for 2 off 24 balls.
This is only going one way.
56-2

Shit batting by us.

YAWN!!! Looks like I’ll have to watch the footy.

Damn! I missed Hartlepool v Bromley.

Pure old skool Chris Tavare this.
Given up, burning Kielbasa on the BBQ time
Maybe a cheeky Ribeye later after more beers

I keep hoping that they’re suddenly going to go for it but I’m not holding out much…

Robinson dropped from the squad pending further investigation.

That is a terrible decision, so driven by the woke culture…

2nd test today, England won the toss and chose to bat.

Looks like they’re trying a new tack of boring the bowlers to death this morning instead of throwing wickets away…

25-0 after 14 overs

52-0 after 21 overs.

Nice to see ~18k people inside Edgbaston as well, and some proper crowd noise…

Rob Key’s done it now hasn’t he!!

5 minutes to lunch and he’s just asked when was the last time the England openers batted through the first session at home :man_facepalming: :lou_facepalm_2: :man_facepalming:

he gives the answer

England v India 2011, Strauss and Cook @ the Oval

and then says I hope I haven’t jinxed it now… :lou_facepalm_2: :lou_facepalm_2: :man_facepalming:

Bails are off

67-0 at Lunch.

BTW the last time the England openers batted through the first session at home, one of the batsmen was out first ball after lunch!!

And it begins.

Creepy out for a 3 ball duck.

70 odd for 2.

Root gone for 4 - 85/3.

Oh dear.

Crawley bang out of form and out of the test side I should think

Playing at a wide ball that he had no need to play at, again!!

Patel to Pope, OUT

Gone this time! It’s a similar ball to the first of the over, and if anything just a touch wider than what it was then. Pope goes back, but perhaps also has his weight going backwards as he shapes to cut. Gets the toe-end of the bat, and Blundell takes a sharp catch. Pope walks off, disappointed, because he was just about beginning to find his stride

Damn we miss Trott at #4
