EFL Cup Final - BEERS BEERS BEERS

I’m not fan of London, never have been. But I could not understand why everyone went to Trafalgar Square on New Year’s Eve. There were so many people there. No countdown, no fireworks, just pissed people with cans. Then it was a bit like, well it must be midnight, yeah yay! Then everyone just vanished, walking around aimlessly.

I love London don’t get me wrong just not the going out bit, its closes too early and its too spread out.

Oh chill out man, I’m pulling your leg.

But yeah, if you go to the tourist hot spots, you’re going to have a shit time. That is true of pretty much any city that has large amounts of tourism. It’s always fake and plastic. I cannot, for the life of me, understand the attraction of Leicester Sq. There is fuck all of any interest there, and yet it is constantly teaming (teeming? - I dunno) with idiots.

Yeah, stuff is spread out, it’s a big city. Things aren’t going to be as close together as a Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester or Liverpool. But there’s plenty of places with late licences. It largely depends what sort of place you are after. Soho has plenty of places open late - I seem to find myself out late there after work often enough. As do Fulham, Brixton, Camden, Islington, Clapham, Hackney, Dalston, Shoreditch and plenty of other places.

Re: Tarquin, I’m teasing again. Though you don’t help ya’self by following up your post talking about how your off to watch a game in a box :lou_wink: They gonna be serving prawn sarnies up there?

I’m mostly just jealous no fucker has ever invited me in a box :lou_sad:

Fair play.

I know all of those places but haven’t been out there for a good few years, my brother lived in London for 20 odd years so went out there a fair bit, it all seems to close down at 0200am which is like being back in 1997, if worst comes to the worst I’ll get the train back and go on the piss in Liverpool, concert square and Wood St/Bold St doesn’t close until 0400-0600 on a Sunday, I guess I am spoilt here for a bevy.

I guess there may be a bit of you need to know where you are going? That’s probably exacerbated by the size of the fucking place.

Oh and to clarify my post, my office is in Soho, I’m not just there to frequent some of the establishments it is well known for.

Enjoy the game, and beers of course, on Sunday all going. I’m insanely jealous. As I said before, if you are out and about after, I’ll try show my face. I’ll even buy Baz a beer. I probably owe him one (he’s still a bell though :lou_wink:).

You on Wardour Street? I genuinely think your office is about 70 yards from mine.

A quick google search of KRG’s company’s office in London has confirmed this to me.

Wear your red roses for a meeting in Nandos on Oxford Street!!

Right, so what’s the plan then, Railway pub in Hampstead?

That’s the one I’m going to :lou_lol:

As soon as you saw I’m going eh Lou? :lou_wink:

Cool. Its a sports bar (though a decent one, plus real ales / craft beers) so for those unlucky enough to be without tickets, plan a long stay!

It was more Tokyo that swung it…I’m bored with giving you abuse…
