What possessed the powers that be to give @PhilippineSaint sufficient forum rights to edit forum titles - so that he can go on to imply that my majestic Discourse powers might have resulted in a downgrade to the forum?

I think that the Discoure AI thought he was of a sufficient standard to upgrade him. I suppose a mod, with a sensitive disposition, could always downgrade him.

Chat is a good idea.
But it needs to be used for things that should be chatted about not things that can be threaded.
Match threads are the way to go, but think we will find a use for Chat
My god another person in this world of “IT can do no wrong” who thinks they are still empire building like the mill workers 200 years ago.
Yeah I do like the side menu but I mostly post from my desktop or laptop, rarely from one of those smartphone thingies. Anything new takes a little time to find your way around but it’s all pretty intuitive.

Yep, tech leaders calling for a pause in development while governments decide how to handle it.
They better come up with a plan for millions of people who will no longer be needed in the workforce.
A universal basic income debate is the first thing that is needed. Maybe that’s for another thread but the attitude that sees Chat on here as too much change* is going to be tested by capitalism and the free market in the coming years.
Anyway, I’ve just paid £8.10 for a pint in Winchester so I think they needs my attention.
