:mapoftasmania: Discourse Downgrade…

I work in a school - programming is a side hustle for which I regularly get accused of breaking Discourse implementations.

You’re welcome.

And a fine job you do but your best work is hassling the idiot MP for Eastleigh

He’s worth it.

Just to confirm, the :heavy_plus_sign: in chat now produces that menu as it should?

Can you make the chat box not cover the normal screen when in use as it makes reading the normal screen difficult.

Confirmed across 5 apps on 2 mobiles & laptop

Oooh OOH!
You can do that by closing the drop down menu on the left by clicking the England (3 Lines) or if you prefer Hamburger Button top left next to Sotonians logo

You can minimise the chat window by clicking the double down arrow at the top.

Also if you’re on a laptop you can use the keyboard.

When the chat window is open, you can press ESC (escape) to close it.

When the chat window is closed, you can press - (minus) to open it.

Also, CTRL + K will ask you what channel you want to jump to.

Or

close the left hand drop down

Yes I could do that but can you resize the chat box so it does not cover the main screen when it is in use? this is when using the full screen on a laptop so its not the screen is smaller than it should be issue.

That’s a good shout but it depends on how wide the screen is, Phil.

On my Chromebook, closing the burger menu doesn’t stop the chat window from covering the main content on every screen.

That left hand drop box has been gone not to reappear again

as you can see from your screen shot the chat box is still covering the normal screen.

Yep, try my tips above…

Not going to happen then.

Title changed so you can voice your opinion on which way you think we have gone?

Not sure I am a fan of the chat - its just another place to interact which will just IMO create confusion

We are having the same issue at work with email and teams and which is the correct medium to use for what type of communication - even my tik-tok generation can’t seem to get to grips with it

I am a big fan of keeping it simple - particularly with this sites demographic

Being IT illiterate, I have hardly understood much of all this, but it has been fun scrolling through all the nonsense.
Whatever has been done seems to have worked, and I can still use the things I used before, so, well done everyone, and all is well with the world.
Does this mean saints will win all their remaining matches, and will not be relegated, or have we failed to affect/change that timeline?

Even DC comics could not change that timeline.

We are Doomed

Do they sell Doombar at St Mary’s they may want a name change of it if we do.
