⚰ Death

So sorry to hear this, The Stranglers were a great band, one of my favourites. They were a very good live act, I have great memories of seeing them at the Village Bowl Bournemouth in the late 70s. RIP.

The Curse of Scotty.

Chalk this up to me, we’re booked to see them later this year.

RIP. Great band, great keyboard player.

It’s starting to look like a bad time to be one of my favourite musicians…

Hopefully all current and former members of New Order aren’t locked-down in the same flammable house.

A true pioneer in music, his influence will last a long time. The Man Machine is a modern masterpiece.

Great band, massively influential. Really sad to hear this.

After the breakup did he stay with Jett or Hugh during the late 90’s?

OK gone to gigs never forgotten for a story.

Millie Small, of My Boy Lollipop fame, has also died, and also at the age of 73. If you’re going to have just the one hit, make it a good 'un.

A neighbour give me a couple of ‘78 records when a young teen…Rip It Up by Little Richard and Hound Dog by Elvis.
One afternoon I thought I’d try playing both of them on my Dansette Auto Changer. Hound Dog slapped down and played but Rip It Up slapped down and shattered on the fuckin’ Elvis record.

I was always a Little Richard fan. RIP mate. :worried:

Pretty good innings for a man who lived the life that he did. By my reckoning, of the original rock ‘n’ rollers it’s only Jerry Lee who’s still with us - and he took more substances than any of the others, quite possibly more than all of them combined. There could be a moral in there somewhere.

Facetiousness aside, Richard Penniman was one of the greats - a pioneer whose music inspired others to create something unimaginable just a few years previously. Without him, there’d have been no Elvis, no Jerry Lee, no Carl Perkins, no Gene Vincent…

RIP Richard. Awopbopaloobapalopbamboom!

Little Richard was a huge influence on just about every rock band that came out of the 60s. The Stones, Beatles etc idolised him. Made it to a decent age considering the debauched life he led. He was the genuine article. RIP.
