Eddie and the Hotrods always distanced themselves from punk. They were a pub rock band imho, and an excellent one. RIP Barrie, Life on the Line indeed
…and then there was one…
A fan of Cream back in the day but strangely didn’t take to Ginger’s drumming. Still acknowledge a '60s legend. RIP Ginger.
Frank Dobson has died. A good egg
One toe in the grave. Now the rest of him too.
Gary Rhodes, inventor of the cheese and pineapple hedgehog.
And Jonathan Miller…
Bloody hell, they’re all at it. Clive James has died aged 80
Very sad…another string to his bow not widely recognised…songwriter. A very apposite epitaph, I’ll remember him. RIP Clive…
To be fair he did very well. After being diagnosed with chronic leukemia in 2010 he was then diagnosed with emphysema and kidney failure, in 2012 he admitted the disease had beaten him and he was very near the end. A very witty man, he will be missed.
Stayed at the Calabash in Grenada where he has one of his restaurants
Bloody brilliant place
And just down the road from a craft brewery set up by a couple from Hythe
Quality bloke with a healthy dose of cynicism.
Ozzie, but nobody is beyond reproach.
Oh, look, mate RIP
He had a great turn of phrase, and was a decent bloke i reckon. His observation a year or so ago that Jeremy Corbyn’s eyes"sparkled with kindness" was a lovely thing to say. Especially about a politician.
He was only 59 and died of a fall.
He taught me(through a book) the greatest cheese sauce(and yes for those that remember, soup) ever. I think he liked cheese and i thank him for his contribution to the world of cheese infused dishes.
Certainly more accomplished at his trade than some more well known individuals and was still married to his wife he met at catering college.
My sympathies to the family.
I like cheese
Do you like peas?
Liked Gary Rhodes. Never went to his places in Dubai (where he passed away) but he (& my mate Gordon) got me into cooking
Loved Clive James. His dry droll delivery and timing were superb. Used to love his Travel shows A postcard from…
A little bit of my life left me today
RIP to both.
Fuuuuck…
Bob Willis has died.
A legend and a genuine hero of mine.
RIP
I always remember Bob Willis as being the tall English fast bowler throwing them down the pitch at about half the speed of the West Indies bowlers.
or that’s what it seamed like
