Rip Torn, the wonderfully-named US character actor, has died at the age of 88. He appeared in a good number of films, but I’ll always remember him for his brilliant playing of Artie in Garry Shandling’s show Larry Sanders - one of the finest TV shows you’re ever likely to see.
RIP Rip. It has a ring to it.

Gutted. Loved him in most stuff he was in.
Wake up. Time to die.

Noooo…fucking hero of mine - not just Blade Runner
Sad news, and news that’s been lost under a steaming pile of Boris. RIP Rutger.
Like tears in rain…
I loved Rutger - the best character in my favourite film - a sad day.
And I note that he died in the same year as his character, Roy Batty.
Shite name though : Nora Batty: ;
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
I remember him waving the white handkerchief on the boundary at The County Ground as Barry Richards and Gordon Greenidge put on 232 for the first wicket in a Gillette Cup game in 1975.
RIP Malcolm…played the game in the right spirit.
DA Pennebaker, legendary film maker, has died at the age of 94. Probably best known for documentaries that he made of Bob Dylan tours (Don’t Look Back and No Direction Home), though he also made behind-the-scenes documentaries of presidential campaigns (Kennedy in 1960 and Clinton in 1992).
And this, of course, is one of his best-known pieces - all done in a single continuous take:

RIP Justin. Hope the club does something.
Long time Saints announcer @justingladdis suddenly passed away yesterday. I went to a number of Saints games he called. He was also a Morrissey fan but I never held that against him. Here’s a song for JG:
Very sad…I would think something will be forthcoming before the 1st home game.
