Never saw The Wire but enjoyed him in Boardwalk Empire.

Gutted.
He was the best character in The Wire. Homosexual, tough as fuck and made his money robbing drug dealers. If you ever wanted to see a character that gave less fucks, you’d be hard pressed.

The Wire is an amazing show. Completely uncompromising - I remember not understanding much of that Barksdale’s crew said in the early episodes, but picked it all up throughout the show.

Absolutely, it may as well have been Swahili until about episode 3 or 4…but once you’ve got the lingo, it was a fantastic bit of television.

Gutted. Norm Macdonald is dead at 61. Not a huge name over here, but something of a legend in the US.

Just been watching a load of back videos of him - he’s brilliant. I knew him actually from The Middle (comedy set in Indiana in the US) and I used to get him confused a little with Adam Carolla (similar voices and delivery, except it seems Norm is actually funny).
Have a look at Dirty Work. It’s a silly comedy in which Norm and his best mate start a revenge business. Very funny in places.
