Anyway, how do they get to get a funeral so quick, my dad passed on Tuesday (just gone) and we haven’t got the death certificate yet so can’t even think about arranging a funeral…

Arranging the paperwork & funerals is a pain
If you are registering the death in Southampton on Monday / Tuesday the old Maritime Museum is by the Registrar Office. Me and Sis C_S sank a few pleasant pints there afterwards.

We missed that by a couple of weeks last year so had to go in person. Was weird / difficult but me and Sis C_S had a strangely comfortable day.
