:saints: 💰 DaGrosa - Saints Takeover ❔

New owner?

Entered into a period of exclusivity is pretty specific

“…Should takeover prove successful, Saints would likely raid the transfer market…”

According to the Daily Heil.

Jeez :man_facepalming:

VC investors so looking for an undervalued opportunity or one in which growth potential Is at least doubling up in 5 years… ‘was‘ interested in Newcastle… They well still be and looking at us to Force Ashley’s hand?

Queue meltdown in SWF as the rants about VC begin and not ‘propa’ owners… And leveraged buyouts

Nothing wrong with a leveraged buyout - debt is very cheap financing and we’d only cost £200m which is peanuts compared to most similar deals.

Bit of background on DaGrosa

The only worrying thing about a VC buyout is the exit window is max. 5 years so this wouldn’t be a long term project

This article is interesting - talking about emulating City Football Group with a Prem anchor team and then satellite teams and academies around the world

IMHO, a VC buy out is BETTER than than the old school local retired business man made good, buying his team, investing his cash until its gone… if we ever want success… that is. VCs will want double value in 5 years… only way to achieve that for Saints would be to get to a 400mil valuation… we are only doing that by profitable and more sustained and higher league position and UEFA league level on a regular basis etc… Now how they figure on doing the with a provincial club when many have had the same aspirations and failed is another matter…

Ignore the ÂŁ signs for a moment & the statement is very interesting

Deep discount
Minority Stake
Copy City Group

City Group is similar to an old plan held by the UAE FA to spread Academy technology & systems, fan bases and eventually players among partnered clubs globally.

That doesn’t necessarily mean billions like City, as a lot of that had to be built up.

This is interesting
The Minority Stake comment is the one to watch however.

Trust I know nothing Crook to get involved

To be fair we did for a fleeting moment of time when the investment was there - trouble is that we have been aimless for some time now.

One thing the toxic dwarf did well was to set out a vision, communicate it and tried to implement it - You can carry people a long way with that,

Bordeux fans all over Twitter telling anyone who will listen that he fleeced them, picked their bones dry then walked away.
His deal is also debt based and means paying interest on ÂŁ200m a year.
Forever

Develop the waterfront… Where’s MLG?

I would be interested in getting a new owner but not if it is by using a loan to get us.

Seems to be the way these day, sadly.

True but we can only hope

Considering that is how Gao bought us, in theory, a like for like wouldn’t be awful, but depends on the terms and whether they fit in our budget.

Investing in us, building our profiteering strategy on player development & sales and International partnerships is fine.

Investing in us to asset strip ala SISU/Hedge Fund style is bad

Couple of random tweets tonight saying that the EPL are currently doing the Fit & Proper Persons test on a bid LED by DaGrosa.

Not people I normally follow

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Will wait for more information first before becoming a gibbering wreck

Be careful what you wish for?

Unless they can find a way and hold a desire to actually inject new revenue in to the club then it will be ‘business as usual’, ‘self sustainable’ blah blah blah. Essentially meaningless some might say.

I am intrigued to learn how teams like Wolves can spend the money they do given their size, ground capacity (slightly lower than ours) and fact they’ve been outside the top flight for quite a while.
