I will see if there is a bookie that will take your bet. It’d mean putting Alf back on the TV, and you finding some way to surveil all those watching it, to see if they say that Alf Garnett was right.
Frankly, I think you’ve a few hurdles to clear before you’re hiding in the nation’s sofas waiting for those magic words, not least political will. I do not mind helping in this regard, as evidenced by this contribution, a template letter you can use to write to your MP.

Absolutely right. The 'right on ’ people will never admit it though. The point about Alf was that Johnney Speight was years ahead of his time, Speight was a left wing socialist back in the day when to be such a thing, especially at the BBC, was unheard of. The masses were too thick to realise that Alf was a figure of fun to thinking people. If only the masses had known that Warren Mitchell was a Cambridge educated gay man they would have been horrified. The Brexiters will never admit it, but take away the people who voted leave for the sole reason that it would get rid of the ‘furriners’, there would have been an overwhelming vote for remain. That is the truth, anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. The likes of Jacob Rees Mogg and the rest of the poster boys for Brexit are solely concerned with protecting their ill gotten gains from the forthcoming EEC crackdown on offshore tax avoidence. The sad thing is that working class Brexiters really do believe that Rees Mogg and his ilk are their champions. As if!

This article is not actually about the details of this tiopic, but linking with @nottarf-krap post there is a line in this which rings alarm bells.
Central to these culture wars, then, is who “the majority” is and which groups can claim to speak for it. No one can claim to have found the perfect oppositional response to the culture wars
Basically, the Far Right are saying what almost all of us have implied on this thread, We wonder how a sweeping brush can deem a Chinese Dress inappropriate or disrespectful to Chonese culture, yet the Right use that same message to gather more support.
The article implies mainstream politics is sleep walking to disaster. Those that pop up with these crazy generalities of cultural offence are in very great danger of making matters a whole lot worse by pouring flames on the fire.
Being inappropriate in a Chinese Dress is not a Generality, it is about context and the intelligence/understanding of the wearer. To then try and tar all society with the same brush will lead to only one outcome. Everyone will get fed up.

As much as I don’t particularly like Jamie Oliver (don’t know him as a person tbf) the faux outrage about cultural appropriation really pisses me off.
