There are clips from the local newspapers of their weddings! LOL.
One of the girls on my Software Engineering course had the nickname Beaver, on account of her surname being Beavan. She married a bloke called Seymour, and they went double-barrelled. To her eternal credit, she earnestly petitioned for “Seymour-Beaver”, but this was shot down by prudish husband.
Given my propensity for lightheartness, I would forgive you for thinking I’m taking the piss – but this genuinely happened.
Years ago, when I first left school, I worked with a girl whose last name was Balls. She married her long term partner, whose surname was Cox. For some inexplicable reason (self-deprecating humour?) they decided to go for the double-barrelled marital title of – Balls-Cox.
I shit ye not.
My preferrance would be Cox-Balls.
I’m sure they mass-debated furiously over the decision.
Tricky one, should the cox come before the balls or vice-versa?
Perplexing, isn’t it?
All I know for sure – is that the cox should be above the balls – and that under no circumstances should the sack be covered in shite.
Harry Fucking Redknapp.
I just did a little wee… but not on my bollocks
I have a double-barrelled name.
How very dare you all.
Just because you’ve omitted the ‘s’ from the beginning of your username, doesn’t mean that we don’t know how your family got its name
Hehe. On that note, Ex-Trader has probably got one of the best per person badges on Sotonians.
Just reading an article about dead climbers being recovered and came across this classic - Jennifer Lowe-Anker.
Lowe-Anker, now there is a phrase that most Saints fans have uttered many times!!
If a mate of mine marries her partner, their surname could be Butt-Parry.
Sounds like a move in fencing.
Or a move in the gay community?
This is something of a geeky departure, but anyone that has both played Tekken and is something of a reprobate will have played this game.
I have no idea whether this was intentional, but certain versions of the game have a Roger, a Wang, a Paul and a King, leading to such bouts as:-
And of course, Roger works with anything.
Our local canon goes by the name of Roger and is affectionately known as Roger the Vicar.
How about this geezer. Double barrelled? Triple barrelled? Pish. This guy had a quadruple barrelled name!
Admiral Sir Reginald Aylmer Ranfurley Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax
Another one I just recalled. Some years ago, we had a kid on the books of our Academy, by the name of Jordace Holder-Spooner.
