Oyster cards are still used and the one that still holds records of people, debit/credit card is the same principle though.
Not sure how accurate this guyâs tweets are but he often claims to have an inside line.
Also, in other news there is no 5pm briefing today - COBRA meeting instead.
A skinhead whos done some bird ha ha, fuck me Pap anymore good time storysâŠ
I always thought the âcreeping escalationâ was a good policy as people are more accepting of it, very much like a frog in boiling water. People are generally more resistant to authoritarian dictats so asking them nicely and then forcing it on them when they donât comply seemed to be workingâŠ
However seeing the idiocy going on out there I feel that a forced lockdown is maybe needed.
I do worry that we are accepting of becoming, effectively, a police state thoughâŠ
Choices are lock down and hope the powers are yielded at the end
Do nothing and overwhelm the NHS
I think the point is not about the reaction to being locked down, itâs that we should probably have been locked down weeks ago as the NHS will be dealing with all the cases that are in the system and are being put in the system whilst these measures are being ignored.
The issue with creeping escalation is not that it is creeping itâs that itâs not working.
A baton across the head or a rifle butt in the mouth would keep people off the streets.
Yep, I did try and say that. Thank God I have a fairly large gardenâŠ
This is one of those hindsight issues
If we had gone postal a month ago and locked down completely, our case count would be very low and commentators suck as Piers Morgan would be howling about a massive overreaction
It goes against his libertarian ideology, fuck that lock people down and keep them at home, and as for 2nd home occupiers, fucking throw them in the sea.
Itâs really not about hindsight.
Itâs about lives and leadership.
When the measures were being ignored we should have gone nuclear. Weâve seen what has happened in Italy and the scientist above that said we each infect 59,000 people after 10 iterations or interactions surely tells is all we need to know?
I know that and you know that and I bet Boris knows that, butâŠ
I still maintain that a decent proportion of the country have to be receptive to those measures for it to work. Otherwise there will be mass disobedience and the police will be overwhelmed as well.
After this weekend the country might just be ready to pay attention
Plenty. Have you got one?
But what youâre saying is still coming across as if itâs a choice.
NHS overrun and large scale deaths or civil disobedience and Boris has chosen the former.
I donât believe we have a choice (perhaps we do and weâll be fine) so you donât worry about civil disobedience because you have no choice. The alternative is Italy.
But weâve only arrived at this point because all the other measures have been delivered with no enforcement.
Without sanction, we, as a country, have tacitly approved panic buying, hoarding, travelling on crowded public transport, schools staying open, sporting fixtures still allowed, flights into our country from infected regions and concerts to go ahead.
Weâve either reacted too late to these things or weâve completely relied on people to think of others. That policy hasnât worked - with the exception that sporting fixtures were stopped by the governing bodies themselves.
Why?
Because apparently Cummings and Johnson have a policy of creeping infection - playing roulette with our critical care resources.
Libertarianism is laudable.
But we donât rely on goodwill alone to stop people from killing other people. We have a law and that law is enforced and if it is transgressed there are penalties.
Some things transcend libertarianism.
7295 new cases in America - they have lost control
Yes, of course.
Tear gas and the army on the streets is needed, authority needs to be shown.
Yes a crack on the skull and cement in the fanny of the breederâŠ
Christ you are a fucking twat. Fucking tear gas?
Fuck
