:covid_19: 😷 šŸ„ Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ā“

Pensioners and single mums that don’t have a car are being fucked by our government, press and the other selfish fools.

They knew years ago they couldn’t cope and deliberately done fuck all.
From 2016

ā€œWe’ve just had in the UK a three-day exercise on flu, on a pandemic that killed a lot of people,ā€ Sally Davis told the World Innovation Summit for Health at the time. ā€œIt became clear that we could not cope with the excess bodies,ā€ she ominously warned. One very predictive conclusion was that Britain, as Davies rightly said, faced the real threat of totally ā€œinadequate ventilationā€ in a future pandemic. Davies was, of course, referring to the need for ventilation machines, which keep oxygen pumping in patients critically ill with a respiratory disease such as coronavirus."

But they’ve been planning, just not with the needs of people in mind.

Guilt.

Only yesterday you said this was about spurious figures and dark forces playing with markets, now you’re saying (quite rightly but delayed) its about Government inaction?
Welcome, I say welcome.

No i didn’t. I said it was being overplayed and used for other reasons, which it quite clearly is.
We could learn a lot from Cuba.

Oh its overplayed when you want it, oh I see.

Maybe just maybe its honest reporting and yours isn’t?

How many deaths in Russia?

I point out 2 key differences between Poland & UK on my tours.

  1. Simple, villages are Communities, not dormitories, so people look out for each other more.
  2. Service is a SERVICE not a COST. So every Village has at least 2 shops, every suburb has at least 1 medium Tesco Metro sized Supermarket plus Spar type franchise shops.
UK you all went lazy, buying on line, and also centralised with massive Hypermarkets & Tescos out of town. We dont have that. So there is quite simply FAR more shelf space per person here in Poland. FAR more shops - we have 7 supermarkets within 4kms of us IN A VILLAGE!
Independent bakeries & pie shops butchers, pharmacies etc.

It IS a problem in UK & you should be concerned not just annoyed. Not enough shelf space, the supply chain doesn’t react well to fear or moronic leadership statements.

Another key difference here is how fast we’ve all gone 2metres.
Pharmacy 1 person working then go 1 at a time. Queue outside were all 2m apart.
Lidl. We were all 2m away, waiting to get bread out of shelves, to open a fridge and to pay.

Not saying it works or that we are being ā€œsuperiorā€, just that people here seem to get it.

I also think it will get a lot worse out there Drivers, Packers, Production Staff, Shipping Staff, Port Clearance staff, Airfreight staff. All gonna be getting sick.

Maybe just maybe it’s not, from media shown to constantly lie(omission if not outright). I’d have to be a fool to believe them(again).

I was as sceptical as you at the start of this, as you say the numbers don’t add up, but the stories coming out of Italy about what can happen if this carries on unchecked are, quite frankly, scary.

It’s not the deaths from the virus it’s the deaths from the patients that can’t get treatment because of the people that NEED treatment because of the virus.

I think he’s just getting on to that fact now after about a month.

How many deaths in Russia?

This has been obvious for some time. Once ICU capacity is maxed out we are in trouble. If the Government waits for this to happen before enforcing a lock down we will be in deep shit.

This from three days ago, absolutely shameful, a disgrace bordering on the criminal. Who will be held responsible for this, where does the buck stop. It’s all very well being told that this crisis shouldn’t be politicised but how can it not be? The decision to run with this ā€˜herd immunity’ theory was, at the end of the day a political decision, no matter how much the architects hide behind their politically appointed scientists. Typical Johnson behaviour, his priority all his life has been to take credit for the good, and avoid all responsibility when he fucks up. Hence his refusal to do what the rest of the world are doing and order the closure of bars etc and lock things down to minimize the spread of the virus. He will say, " i advised you not to go to the pub - restaurant - Theatre etc, which was good and wise advice. But you chose not to listen". This is not leadership, with the country in totally unchartered waters with the situation deteriorating daily we are led by possibly the last politician in the world most sensible and sane people would choose to be at the helm. But at least he’s got charisma and is a good laugh eh!

Stories, what can?
It’s not convincing, but i’m sceptical of everything except Saints winning every game :lou_facepalm_2:

I’ve read the reports from the Institute of Higher Health and the numbers don’t seem a problem. The deliberately induced fear does seem a problem.
Now i don’t know the answer to this question but are people on social media seeing lots of Italians posting pictures of overflowing hospitals?

Government now telling pubs and clubs and leisure centres to close ASAP

They can still provide take out services but they must shut…

This is where we need strong and decisive governance. There needs to a clear statement because 99.99% of those under 70 and with no underlying medical condition will get mild symptoms for a few days - so there needs to be guidance on how long they stay off work and when they can come back to get things moving and as normal as can be…

…I still believe the plan should have been to isolate the vulnerable and provide them with REAL support - shopping, medications to door etc. Real community - yes it could be harsh on those in isolation, but if we helped instead on buying enough bog roll for 185 shits a day for 6 months… we would not be seeing panic buying, empty shelves and we might, just might has kept the hospitals able to to cope…

…instead its seem this isolate everyone and we end up with people frustrated, panic buying, and most likely less productive and teh olde and vulnerable cant get food or medications…

Hardly. I said at the start the problem was our health services, as has born out. Look at Cuba.

Government by panic.
