:covid_19: 😷 🏥 Corona Virus the thread for all your fears ❓

Ignoring the rona for a moment and back onto recruitment consultants, i thought i would share this. Received an email today from a recruitment agency with a CV for someone after over 70k a year as a site manager in the construction industry. The opening paragraph of the CV is as follows;

I have over 14years of experience working in construction industry in United Kingdom.
*I have started my professional development from the position of labour and I worked my way up to Crane Supervisor, Site Supervisor, Assistant Site Manager and then Site Manager, therefore I have throughout knowledge and understanding of Construction and Civil *
Engineering Industry.

I guess proofreading is a skill neither applicant nor agency possess. And this is quite normal.

About standard

Recruiters are sales - they are not renowned for their attention to detail - or following processes / systems

The only way to get them to do something it to make their commission dependent upon it

Asking for a friend

One level down from “Head Hunting”, what would a “Labour Supply Company” charge in recruitment fees?
For example a country with Freedom of Movement seeks certain types of Service staff from a country with Freedom of movement?

As in, randomly, been asked to find a local supply co who can ship Beauticians, Chefs etc for contracts (inc accomodation) to an EU Country in decent numbers.
Trying to work out what to charge them as a consulting percentage or as we used to say in Dubai, Knowledge Fee.

Not sure what the going rate would be - seen fees in the £500 per head range from Eastern European agencies for low skill placements

I would see if you could wangle 20% of fees rendered in the first 12 months

If they know up front they can build it into their pricing

Recruitment agencies are similar to estate agents. Utterly garbage and money for very little, usually, with the exceptions being like gold dust

This has been around for in the scientific press for a few months. Looks very effective if given early.

Is it available for horses?

Fairly small molecule, not difficult to make.

Sardines on the train today. Only 2nd time in the office for me. Not going to be a 3rd anytime soon

The furlough scheme ended and there hasn’t been the mass redundancies that were forecast - firms have welcomed them all back.

So all these struggling firms have created 1m jobs overnight or these people weren’t actually on furlough at all

My wife works for a company that provides, amongst other things, P45’s to companies around the UK. They have seen a massive uptick in P45’s being given.
