I don’t understand, are the Russians undercounting or telling the truth?

Bit of both i’d say.
The few i’ve read seem to be treating it as no more than another veriant(which it is) and given that the WHO are saying a fatality rate of 0.7% of cases, that puts a true rate at 0.035%.
Is that really enough to strip away the last pretence of democracy?
Seems so in the two countries that are most affected by the financial meltdown.Brent crude under $30 a barrel. That’s just exploded the shale fantasy into a debt hell.

WHO figures

Oh please for the love of God, not some unverified tin foil bollocks, please no.
Also the Oil price war was happening in tandem to this not with it.
The Russian economy has been fucked for a long long time, you don’t need to be an economist to know that, the invasion of Crimea has cost them dearly.

The WHO?

Before, it started before the fear.

No you don’t need to be an economist to believe that, you need to be an idiot that believes propaganda without ever checking the facts.
Carry on😉

Yup. Largest country in the world. Full of natural resources.

Fucked.

Sorry used to your tin foil bollocks.

Why use it then as a reason? The price war is nothing to do with the virus.

No, the Russian economy unless you’re in the top 1% is tanking.

Held by 1% or less of the population.

Welcome to Planet Earth, man who was born yesterday.

I don’t whether that post was a capitulation, an acceptance of what I’ve said is correct or classic Pap whatabouteery…

What kind of fucking selfish and ignorant people do this? Why are there so many selfish ignorant folks hoarding when there is enough for everyone if we just shop normally? Even for those needing to isolate for 14 days… not 14 fucking weeks… jeez

The sad truth is that ignorance and fear reveal the worst in people…

It begins.

OK, I have mates from Computer times who are in that grey world of IT Brokers who are now getting offers of Masks & Testing kits.

I have NO contacts or interest in faffing around in that world (plus you need a licence here, but if any of you lot are in that game and need 1 million + masks, DM me I will put you in direct touch and step away

Big jump in COVID-19 related deaths…

Indeed, it is a big jump, but we should still put this in context at this stage.

There have been approx 117,000 deaths in the UK since Jan 3, 2020
16,000 of which were people with respiratory diseases such as COPD etc * (an average of 1880 each week from respiratory diseases)

It is likely that this virus at its peak will exceed these levels, but i still feel that if prevention of death is so important, why are we not highlighting the fate of those 1880 every week, mostly over 70 and with complications from respiratory problems? Should we ignore them and their fate because they did not have Corona, but usually some other infection?

I am not trying to be all Cummings here, pleas believe me, but we will need to see if the when combined over say 12 months, did the Corina virus increase the overall annual death rate, or accelerate death in patients for whom the 12 month survival rate was already very low. This is NOT about not giving a fuck for folks, but about understanding the epidemiology and impact of the virus… as shitty as that might sound

@Saint-or-sinner Will think this an overreaction and some some of Western game, meanwhile in Russia they’ve had no deaths and no recordings of an outbreak…

Its because this is invisible, shuts down daily life for all.
