If you don’t have access to that info, don’t base your fucking system on it.

Soz, was that aimed at CB or the Govt. asking for a friend, like…

And I thought the EU response had been a disaster

BBC News - Covid-19: Brazil surge reaches new level as daily deaths pass 2,000

Unfortunately I don’t think any kind of test and trace system would work effectively unless the population allows the govt to keep a track of their movements (we wouldn’t) or we had strict enforcement (we wouldn’t put up with that) or a super compliant population (lol)

Not exactly - you’d have NFC sensors that trigger when you go to a place (for instance a shop) and you are meant to be quarantining.

Reckon the UK would accept that? A Huge number didn’t want to don’t load the NHS app and that had none of the tracking capability

The NFC sensors only work if you take your phone with you.

And yet they carry iPhones or android phones around with them :man_shrugging:

Yep, but the majority of people cannot go anywhere without their phone, they tend to use it for payment etc. You’d catch the vast majority of people doing that.

All its doing is stopping you enter a shop if you’ve got a contagious illness.

It’s the 80:20 rule.

Its one if the big oddities if modern life… I remember the whole backlash to ID cards… and ā€˜personal freedom’ yet folks movements and locations could be traced though the use of their cash point card without folks getting all up themselves about it.(or probably realising)

Now of course folks happily agree to apps knowing and monitoring their location… phones etc, triangulation based on calls … seemingly without any if the same concerns yet the moment there is something official that would have a big impact on public health, folks get all fuckity

Only if they are happy being monitored like this. All you have to do is turn you phone off to drop off the system

It’s the 80:20 rule - you can only look to cover 80% of the population.

The fact that people are looking to break the law means they should be monitored.

Unless they turn off the location tracking in the app.

80% of the population use 20% of their common sense?

Not carrying a mobile phone means you are looking to break the law?

No, leaving the house when you’re meant to be quarantining.

…and have NFC enabled on it.
