 we will not have enough ICU beds to care for everyone of the high need cases, if everyone gets it.

Best option is to SLOW the spread as China has done, thus ensuring more folks can be treated effectively over time and reduce number of deaths = social isolation

We have had our first case of somebody not coming back to the unit as they are self isolating which means his back to back does not get off until we can find a replacement . A rig in the North sea is in lockdown already.
Company is now having meetings 3 x a week to discuss implications if we cannot relieve people and if flights are cancelled how they will get home and back again. do we shut down the rig and wait until its over and then try to restart it ? keep a skeleton crew onboard to keep the essentials running?
We actually have a Chinese contractor who has been here for over 2 months because they cannot fly him back to China. all flights were stopped the day after he arrived onboard.

While we “know” the summary about Social Distancing now, last week that was the 1st time I realised we were in the shit if we didn’t do it, not for our own health necessarily but the sheer destruction to EVERY Health System through the sheer speed of transmission.
1% of a lot of people may b e manageable for Medcare over a year but not over 3 months.
Anyway. As more come in I’ll put them up. They are REALLY helpful for the afternoon nap.

What’s the governments definition of symptoms?
I still don’t know what i’m supposed to be looking for.

On the plus side, i’ve just talked to the parents about it.

“What’s your view as your high risk and i meet lots of people, so will have to stay away if you want to quarantine”

“Not bothered”.

“Ok can you sign something to say it wasn’t my fault”.

On the downside, if i have to stay off work, the river season has just closed. Would’ve been the perfect opportunity to disappear for a week :frowning:
