Yes I was a bit miffed when the extended timing of a second jab was suggested but after hearing the facts behind the headlines I think itâs a sensible way to get more protected more quickly.
I was talking to an 88 year old friend on my dog walk this morning, she and her 90 year old husband were inoculated on 23rd December and have had the second jab postponedâŠthey understand the reasoning.
I was able to reassure them that they were going to be pretty safe from infectionâŠwouldnât you be.
I would be. Iâm in tier 4 and Boris expressed the hope that tier 4 will be done by mid-Feb. I hope he is able to deliver.
Ladyslowlane and myself are tier 4 too and although LS has had MS for 40 years it seems she is not much more vulnerable so weâre thinking Feb.

A single dose appears to offer protection.
The concern is that some epidemiology experts are concerned the current strains may find it easier to/be caused to mutate quicker to circumvent the impact of the jab.
There are already some concerns the SA Strain may have done that.
If the fvcker does mutate where the hell is the back up plan? Another 12 months of lockdown?
If the vaccine is less effective against ANY mutation of the original strein, they vary little from the original that itâs not a case of starting again from the beginning but making suitable adjustments to existing vaccines.
A bit like the latest FLU vaccines that cater for mutations of the Flu stein. At the moment thereâs no evidence that existing vaccines wonât work on the current mutations.
The mRNA vaccines will take about 6 weeks to rejig so that they will neutralise the new mutations if this proves necessary. I would imagine they have already designed the necessary modifications for the the recent mutations.

Yep.
The EU will still take a year to approve & then order 10% of what they need

Not sure it would need re-approval
I was talking about the EU.
Not normal society.

This needs to be shared more widely and the Govt needs to make an firm example of The RT Hon MP for The 15th Century , IMHO
Iâm not holding my breath

Heâs got a note from his Mum.

The tier 4 did allow attendance at a place of worship - so i guess if that was the only type of service for whatever whack job branch of catholism he follows, he has got a get out of jail free card
Quite why he had to listen to a old rites service in Latin is another matter
Not heard about our 2nd one.
But at work we had another email asking who would want it. So there may be capacity again.
I read someone say they open up the 1000 odd vials ans they have to be used so thatâs why some extra people are getting it.
Also read people trying to sign up to do the vaccination but they wonât be vaccinated as priority. So 70yr old ex GP wouldnât get a vaccine.
Tier 4 did allow attendance at a place of worship, but it didnât allow somebody from tier 3 to enter tier 4, go to church and then go back to tier 3. His religious obligations argument is just nonsense, the Catholic church puts no obligations on itâs adherents to hear mass in Latin, this was his personal preference. This is just another excuse for an entitled Old Etonian Tory to ignore the rules. Of course, like Cummings it will be ignored, there will be no consequences for him, and people will always look to excuse his rule breaking.

I remember this from Latin at my old comp school - Olim caudex, semper caudex - not sure it translates as well as I thought it did back then.
Blimey, if that lot found him odd he must have been off the scale of oddnessâŠ
Things didnât improve for him at Oxford either, some nice tidbits here and some cute photos.
What you think Intiniki, bit of a hunk?
