From BBC:

Boris Johnson has vowed to defeat Covid and build a better country over the next decade in his leader’s speech to the virtual Conservative conference.

Evoking the UK’s recovery from World War Two, he said he wanted to build a “new Jerusalem”, with opportunity for all, improved housing and healthcare.

I guess it’ll appeal to all of the blue rinse brigade still alive if covid hasn’t got them just yet.

WW2 finished 75years ago. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Mind you what have we done as a nation we can be proud of since since?

A truly inspirational speech. He will build a new Jerusalem, the UK will be “The greatest place on earth,” he will lead a “transformation of the UK with mass home ownership, electric vehicles, better broadband and blue passports”. Every home in the UK will be powered by offshore wind energy. He will “fix the injustice of care-home funding, bringing the magic of averages to the rescue of millions”. He then sang three verses of Rule Britannia and spewed up in a bucket.

It appears that the Local authorities dont want to be responcible for enforcing lockdowns assuming central govt will do it when the cases get out of hand. As the councillors are more likely to be voted out at the next local election for upsetting the locals rather than an MP.

Stuart Armstrong tests positive. :frowning: At least he won’t get injured with Scotland.

Problem there is how the virus affects him later.

Doesn’t seem very clear. He tested negative but a “supplementary UEFA test” was apparently positive.

This is what Kier could win for England if he keeps on demanding the science

Meaning what exactly?

I suspect the Sage lot are advocating a full closure and boris is trying to find a half way house with 10pm
