Cook Vs Quint.
I know @scotty will appreciate this. I wish Bellamy’s People had a wider appreciation.
I’ve succeeded on that front with at least one person, me ma.
We’ve been watching it today and she thinks it is great.
I find that like its inspiration Down The Line, it gets better with repeat experiences.
Upscaled version here.
They only made the one series, didn’t they? I loved it, but your traditional R4 audience don’t often take kindly to TV adaptations of radio staples.
Eight episodes aa opposed to the normal six.
One of my favourite gags involves Gary Bellamy visiting an alternative religion convention.
One of the religions forbids the eating of the hairy faced beast.
“That pnly leaves pork and shellfish”
Have you not met the face of a wild pig in the forest ?
More facial hair than the mrs and she used to stand in as the bearded lady when the circus buggered off
This is from the couchtripper YouTube channel.
How ghly recommended for fans of UK comedy esoterica.
I am of course, a big fan of Iannuci’s idy of work.
This is proper out there and has some pretty famous people in it. Robert Webb and Steven Mangan both appear, but my fave is Alan Ford, who basically died all scenes as Brick Top.
He nailed it though
The “my dog has no nose, how does he smell?” Is evergreen
Just watched Ivo Graham at Theatre Royal, Winchester. Recommended.
Pursuant to my earlier post, here is another Ianucci gig.
The premise is fantastic. A mockumentary set in 2031 reviewing the late 2000#.
Love 2031 Ant and Dec.
Went to see Alfie Moore on Saturday night at The Berry. For those who don’t know, he’s an ex copper who has a R4 comedy show called It’s a Fair Cop. This show was a departure from the excellent radio show and he was very funny. Nice bloke too, came out into the foyer after the show to meet people.
