Iranian women are going to be delighted with this. They’ve been fighting tooth and nail for their rights, and looking like getting them. Now the Iranian regime has joined forces with an, ahem, progressive Saudi administration, that will do their cause no end of good. 
This is “strange”
Shia & Sunni Muslims are (let’s call it fractious) about administration of the Holy sites. Daudi’s entire defence budget was driven by the twin fears of Israel & Iran yet now they have deals with both.
And where does this put the UAE, they have a decades old dulipute about the Lesser Tun Islands that Iran seized.
