I am not sure what to make of this. I cannot even make sense of what is being said in the article, apart from there is new evidence.
So if it gets overturned, I am sure he will be back playing again as he will be proved innocent, but if it stays the same, he will never play again.
He will still get lots of stick when playing, even if overturned. I am not sure how I will feel, but suppose you have to go with how he is found (guilty or not guilty).

The reaction, āthereā is predictable. The dude who contorted himself to adamantly maintain that Evans must be innocent (because, sometimes juries get things wrong?) is seeing this as evidence that the jury in this case is wrong. Apparently they should consider evidence not brought before them.
Oh, and Iām a mentalist becuase he still doesnāt understand what rape apologist means. I mean obviously, he knew all about the ānew evidenceā and was just keeping it quiet. That makes complete sense.

If itās upheld he canāt go abroad until the sentence is finished.
At the risk of repeating the obvious: if he apologises he admits his guilt so itās an impossibility given that he continues to maintain his innocence which means suggestions that he should are poorly thought out.as they should have factored this in (and means heās been judged already whereas the door isnāt fully closed, etc.
I had forgotten that there was apparently new evidence but had understood that there was to have been an appeal anyway as was mentioned months ago. I am insufficiently interested in the case to look up the details, however, and will just pick it up when the final decision gets reported.
Itās hard to keep up. The last attempt at appeal was dismissed, I think. As I understand the reason for the new appeal is the new evidence.
Evans wins his appeal. Conviction quashed and a retrial will take place.

this could be good news i suppose, itāll be a great relief to the victim if it turns out she wasnāt raped after all, IIRC she couldnāt remember either way so it must have come as a nasty surprise when the first court decided that she was. I wonder what the new evidence is? I always found it a bit suss that prem footballers could have a threesome without videoing the event.
