321-6 after 50 overs
103 runs off of the last 10 overs!!
321-6 after 50 overs
103 runs off of the last 10 overs!!
Sri Lanka, in reply, are 44-1 after 10 overs
158-1 from 26 overs
Some quality shots interspersed with some fairly streaky stuff.
164 runs still needed, run rate creeping up…
That’s doable
190-2 off 31 overs
They need to balance losing wickets against scoring runs
196-3 brilliant run out from a brilliant throw from Bhuvneshwar Kumar…
Suicidal run attempt mind…
Well, well, Sri Lanka win with 9 balls to spare losing no more wickets.
Shock of the tournamement so far?
Wow bet some big money was made on that result at some dodgy Asian bookmakers
By punters of course
Today we have Bangladesh v New Zealand.
New Zealand need to win to stand a chance of making the semis (non-viagra aided) and hope that Australia fail to beat England tomorrow.
NZ won the toss and chose to bat, Bangladesh would have bowled anyway (according to their captain).
Currently NZ are 62-1 after 12 overs.
203-4 after 40 overs
That is what happens when you move about I completely forgot about the cricket today
NZ restrcited to 265-8 from their 50 overs.
I say restricted as Bangladesh have bowled really well, apparently.
Now lets see if more than one Bangladeshi batsman can bat??
Fark me! That was the match of the tournament so far, I reckon. Smashing bowling from Bangladesh, but when they were shitting their wickets away at the start of their innings, particularly Tamim for a duck, they looked absolutely sunk.
And then that partnership! Absolutely staggering. From 33-4, Shakib and Mahmudullah put on 224 runs and ended up winning with a couple of overs to spare. Incredible stuff.
Let’s hope we can do them a favour by smashing the Aussies tomorrow. Although England seem to chuck in dead rubbers recently.
I believe they found 2 batsman today
Well that shock lasted a whole 24 hours!!
I was winding it into an Aussie colleague the other day that if they don’t beat England they will be out and as most games at Edgbaston have been rained off it’s not looking good for them.
And the Aussies are in bat
0-0

Australia 152 -2 off 25.2 overs
