Career advice

This is exactly my point - Mr T doesn’t want a career or anything like that. He just wants lots of money.

He doesn’t care if he contributes to society in any way or if he leaves a mark - he judges life on a simplistic monetary scale. He has slated the tube drivers but is willing to be one. He is jealous of people that have what he doesn’t. He thinks he is entitled to whatever he wants. He’s been through careers on this thread like a hot knife goes butter. It doesn’t matter what it is - the bottom line is cash. And that’s a sad indictment on him as a person. Shallow. But not just shallow; shallow and jealous. Jealous of others who have more money than him. Particularly if he thinks he is better than them. Why moan about the wages of tube drivers but not merchant bankers - because he thinks he is worth more than a mere train driver.

In summary, Mr T sums up what I despise about people. He is a self centred, self important, Tory gobshite who thinks he is better than other people and measures success by how much money he has and feels diminished by the success of others.

No offence meant.

As I suspected, you’ve completely straw-manned what I’ve said to the point where its pretty much outright slander. Find me a quote which indicates I ‘see tube drivers as beneath me’?

You’re just a common-or-garden keyboard warrior. And yes, I do think its me with the moral high ground.

You have no idea what the moral high ground is. You’re the moral equivalent of the Netherlands.

I would echo the training part - (although I am in Healthcare Consulting rather than accountancy) the models are not dissimilar…but the hours? Most of those who leave out group end up in senior management positions at goodfirms because of their problem solving abilities and importantly developed leadership skills…

PS. Pap, although classified as managment consultancy, we are not all ‘harbingers of doom’ , as most of what we do relates to clinical trial process, commerial strategy and these usually involve investment in new resources and higher FTE, not less. Where we have been involved in ‘rationalization’ -its only after the decison has already been made - we have to help companies figure out how they can deliver and remain compliant with strict regulations with 20% less staff…

More slander.

I’m interested in earning money to have a family and a roof over my head - I.e. I’m hoping and aspiring to the things that you think ought to be the bare minimum standard of living for others. I don’t think I’m entitled to anything so I’m working hard towards it.

What harm do I cause other people? None, zero, zilch.

You’re just a keyboard warrior and a wannabe bully trying to justify yourself. You sum up the modern Labour party flawlessly.

Edit: Can you find a quote backing up where I have said I “think I’m better than” anyone? All you’ve done is list a bunch of baseless accusations against my character in a deliberate smear campaign. Can you back literally any of them up?

Not sure why I’m bothering tbh.

I did say “no offence meant”

"You sum up the modern Labour party flawlessly."

That’s some leap. Explain please?

None taken. If anything I feel wholly vindicated in my politics which is quite pleasing.

Back under your stone.

I am thinking this thread needs more 70s images of Cobham and Woody in bad clothes and saucy underwear to lighten the mood?

I have tried to advise Mr T of how he’s coming across on the forum…it seems he hasn’t heeded it. For shame.

The Labour party has at its core, good, honest, principled men and women - Pap, SOS, Bletch are all good examples. Their positions are consistent - Pap for instance is in favour of protectionism and happy to apply it to workers voting against the EU as much as he is to tube drivers. We can disagree, we can disagree quite strongly even, but there’s a tone of civility there and an understanding that both people are arguing in good faith and mean well.

Unfortunately the Labour Party are also infested by wannabe bullies like Fatso who want nothing more than to have their primal desire to try and pick on someone who they (often mistakenly) think won’t stand up for themselves - and then retroactively justify that to themselves by painting their target as some kind of straw-man they feel justified in attacking.

You can see it in the inconsistencies in his posts.

I’m muddling along and working hard to hopefully one day earn just enough to get by so that I can 1) have a roof over my head 2) have a good, honest job 3) have enough so I can maybe one day have a family life. Apparently that makes me entitled. Yet when we discuss anyone else, be they on benefits, be they a tube driver, be they any sort of public sector worker who’s earnings often come from those poorer than them, everything is absolutely fine and dandy and its an outrage that someone might see things differently. And to boot, he’s so out of touch that he doesn’t even realise that doing a job you enjoy or where you’re actually able to really help people and directly see the benefits of your work are actually massive luxuries ill-afforded to most ordinary people - who of course would love to have those opportunities.

If you point out these consistencies (which are all pretty obvious to most neutrals), you get nothing but a barrage of slander, smears and just straightforward lies about your character. He hasn’t backed up his comment about ‘me thinking I’m better than people’ or ‘judging people on money’ and why would he? He might as well be calling me a rapist and a murderer. Fortunately it convinces absolutely nobody but similar thick-minded numbskulls who duly get their arse handed to them at a general election by people, like me, who have no loyalty to the Tory party, but see a ballot sheet and think ‘right, anyone but that lot’.

Sorry Pap/SOS/Bletch & the good honest Labour men on here - but this lot are dragging you guys down.

Bottom line? I’m a good man. I’m confident in that I’m a good, honest, decent bloke and if someone wants to make shit up in order to convince themselves that they ought to think differently, then I’m just going to shrug my shoulders at their mistake. It’s their loss.

Seriously? Do you think there’s anything I could say to Fatso that would meet with his approval? He made his mind up about me a long time ago. So, meh.

Not loads of cash. Just a fairly average salary so that I can have a roof over my head and maybe a family one day. Nothing fancy. That alright?
