I did.

I didn’t see the game. I’ve seen stats that say we had 20 shots, which is good, but only 5 on target, of which zero went in. That tells me that it’s the players fault and if we had better finishers we would have scored. That could be balls though and Puel may well be a “count”

Tactically Claude got it right.

Individually we failed to do our jobs.

That’s how I saw it.

I can criticise some of Claude’s decisions, and his rotation policy.

But clueless count?

No, I’d have to conclude you didn’t watch the same game as me.

Is that the noise you make when you are having a temper tantrum at Claude?

Did anybody bother to look at Burnley’s home record this season?

Or as Opta Stats put it before the game:

96% - Burnley have won 22 of their 23 points in the Premier League this season at Turf Moor. Homely.

It was a decent team selection today, and actually a reasonable enough performance (that one lapse aside, obviously). The glaring omission? A 15-to-20-goals-a-season striker.

Unless Puel is genuinely going to the Board and telling them he doesn’t need one of those, today can’t be pinned upon him. I don’t for one second believe that’s the case - whatever is said by way of PR.

We were unlucky today against a team with one of the best home records on the division. We moved the ball around well and created chances which, with the exception of Wednesday, we’ve struggled to do recently.

Clearly we need someone who can finish but Heaton made another couple of great saves. Poor keeping from Forster aside we should have had at least a point from that game.

That’s my assessment and if you don’t agree with it then you’re either wrong or have an axe to grind.

That’s the game I watched.

We have got some massive games coming up. Leicester, Swansea and Sunderland. Three teams in poor form that we need to be beating. No excuses.

Not to mention a big game at Liverpool.

Clearly we are struggling and fixture congestion isn’t helping. I would therefore controversially rest everyone of significance for Norwich. Fuck it. We are spread too thin at the moment and need to start prioritising. If that means ‘disrespecting’ the FA Cup then so be it. Needs must.

Got be worth fielding Mcqueen, Reed, Sims and maybe another of the U23s (Olamola or Isgrove) for the Norwich game.

I have a huge axe to grind, Puel is a clueless bell and where is his intent to sign? Oh he says we don’t need players.

Roast Beef dinner.

A fine Italian Red I got in Milan.

Broadchurch S1 on the telly.

Despite my computer crashing & the result we’ve all been here before in especially in my 50th year of supporting Saints.

Just buy a fucking striker

If Boufal was fit he would be at AFCON. He will be fit by the time he would have come back and hopefully in better shape.

I hope the rumours regarding Gabiardini are true.We need a proper striker like Pelle.

Or has merely been briefed to say as much for now.

Do you truly believe that the club screaming from the rooftops about our desire for a striker is likely to get us the best price?

If you’re not already posting as one of the fucktards on SWF you really should go and join them. It’s the perfect echo chamber for your tedious, attention craving negativity.

C’mon Barry you know he isn’t clueless! He is stuck with a very mediocre squad and has been fighting on 3 fronts all season. His English isn’t fantastic but he is obviously doing something about it, I challenge you to learn and become fluent in French to the same degree as Claude in as short a time frame.

And why the fuck should he broadcast his intent to sign? The world and their fucking dog knows we need players, repeating it ad infinitum ain’t going to change that.

Signing players isn’t his remit anyway, it’s down to the new players commitee (or whatever Les called it).

I would seriously suggest you direct your anger in Les’ direction for the lack of quality incomings.

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear and that it what Claude has been charged with doing.

All IMHO

I don’t believe that we’re are crap and I don’t believe that the manager is crap. If the rumours are true then we are after a striker but I agree with Puel, the January window is not a great time to be looking for new players and the club are doing the right thing in playing that down. Yes we need a new striker, but we also need some of the players to step it up. We know what Tadic can do. We know what JRod can do. Long has never been prolific but even his few goals have dried up. We are making chances but the guys have got to start showing what they are made of.
