We’re creating chances and the players are really playing for Claude.
That’s good.
I genuinely think that we’ve been unlucky against some pretty desperate defending from Burnley at times.
The players need some help and Claude needs the support of the Board with the addition of some fresh blood to get us a few goals.
Long has never been prolific. Even if he gets back to his best, he’s not going to win matches for us on his own.
I do see signs that Jay is getting sharper. Perhaps Claude should have started him against his old club?
Tadic is in a really poor dip of form. Did I hear 1 goal in 27 on the commentary?
We bought Boufal to be that talent to unlock defences. He’s injured.
Charlie Austin was knocking in a few earlier in the season, but even then I didn’t (don’t) think he’s the player to make Claude’s formation work. He’s not mobile or quick enough. Oh, and he’s injured.

The same outcome every week. It’s getting silly now.
Think back to midweek, the goal only came out of a Liverpool mistake (the air kick from Klavan). We missed everything else that we actually created ourselves.
We can’t keep doing the same things over and over again and expect a different outcome.

Not really. I just think that your overemphasis on the manager’s struggles (by default, almost) absolves the players of how fucking dreadful they’ve been this season, particularly going forward.

We need 3 signings in the next 2 weeks. The midfield needs dismantling, we need cover at CB with Fonte going and we need someone who can score. someone said without Davis our midfield in shit. I say without Davis its Champtionship, with him its mid table.

Heaton’s been great all season, to be fair.

As I’ve said before, unless Fraser is perfectly positioned to move his massive frame towards the ball, his shot stopping is poor.
Today he ensured he was imperfectly positioned by moving his massive frame to his right when it was most likely to be going to his left. When it did go to his left his momentum and massive frame were moving away from that ball.
On top of that, his ball-handling today was poor. Balls that he came to claim were pinging off his chest, saves were bouncing out of his hands. I did see him come off his line a bit more than he usually does.
Credit to Barton but it was a pretty weak shot that wasn’t even in the corner of the goal. In fact, it pretty much went where Fraser was standing.
Oh and did I mention that Barton told Hendrick to stand in the wall where he was planning to kick it?
I’ll stop kicking Fraser now.

Laughably shite? Think you’re way off target there Tramps. Both are struggling for goals certainly but we currently have a style of play that doesn’t fully utilise Long’s ability to expose the back line with quick counter attacking and clever through balls, are you forgetting he was one of our best players last season?
I would be questioning our midfield with regard to our lack of goals more, how many have Romeu, Clasie, Davis, Tadic, Boufal, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse scored between them in the league this season? The same as Rodrigues by my count but I’m happy to be corrected.
Add in the fact that Puel’s rotation policy has barely let either of them get a run of games in which to get any kind of consistency, leads me to beleive your comments are unfounded and overly harsh.
