:brexit: Brexit - The Ramifications

Another one gone today - why are all the pro-Brexit politicians legging it?

When the talking stops and it’s time for action, it’s funny how no one seems to want to have their career linked to this grand gesture…

It seems very strange that the brexit team amongst the Government has, through self preservation, ineptitude and incompetence, left the remain team in government with the job of implementing brexit. They should all hang their heads in shame.

I dont find it strange at all - its the cowardly way - walk away from something that is broken, rather than staying to fix the problem - its been UK’s relationship with EU all along.

Like moving to Canada, eh?

What’s that all aboot?

Cherts?

I’ve still got some Euros left over from holiday that I never Exchanged back. Am I actually better off now cos of Brexit i.e. I’ll get more pounds if I take them back now? Am I one of Brexit’s first Big Winners.

But I didn’t vote to break it Pap, I voted against fucking the country over.

You voted for it.

You also voted for a new PM and a challenge to Corbyn’s leadership.

Yep.

What you want to try and do is have £150k in a Spanish bank account at a rate of 1.43…

I’m loving this.

The further we get away from June 23rd, and more into recent events, the more ridiculous this line gets.

I voted Theresa May, Remain campaigner, to become Prime Minister, eh?

Yeah, because that’s what all the pundits were predicting in the event of a Leave vote.

I am not yet sated. Give me another!

Tbf Pap, it was clear that Cameron would resign after the vote should Brexit prevail and while it was a surprise that BoJo pulled out, May was clearly the next in line after him so it’s not unfeasible.

dont worry about being the Brexit scapegoat. It’s a bit like being the forum Paul Telfer.

Oh c’mon. There were people on our threads citing Farage as somehow influential in the post-Brexit settlement, never mind the whole “you’re voting for Boris or Gove” line. There was no expectation that May, a Remainer, would head up the next government. This was the entire reason that Leadsom even had a chance.

You’ve got a Party that has so much dirt on them that not one can pose a challenge to May. If Remain had put that in their literature, it may have swayed my vote :lou_sunglasses:

Where did I mention Theresa May? You’re making incorrect assumptions again. I said a new PM. We all knew if Remain lost then Cameron would go. We’d discussed it over and over, so as far as you were concerned you knew it would be either May or Johnson - who I think even you’d agree are worse than Cameron for your political outlook.

This is beginning to get TSW silly, I feel like we’ve been invaded by Hypo and Fry

As a mere woman can someone explain how it was right for Cameron to resign because he wanted to remain, yet it is also right for May to take over as she also wanted to remain. All this throwing of toys out of prams is also rather OTT, no-one knows what is going to happen, there is no magic formula so maybe we should all take a large chill pill. Oh and before anyone gets it wrong I also voted remain

May’s had leadership intentions for a while and was one of the most senior ministers in Cameron’s cabinet - I think it was pretty inevitable that she was going to be involved somewhere along the line in the PM tussle. Whether she was Remain or Leave doesn’t matter too much imo because nepotism is mightier than common sense in the Tory ranks…

The important question now is will she call a general election or take the Brown route?

Just listening to which Tory tarts are likely to be wearing which cabinet hats.

Speculation that Chris Grayling will be our next Chancellor.

I uncomfortably found myself wishing George would stay on.

We are in strange territory here.

WTF is going on?

No-one’s placed him there, but he has been placed in the new PM section…

Cameron’s position was untenable. Always was going to be if he lost.

If I were here I would call an election, it would rip Labour in half if that happened now.

Think I’ll give that video a miss thanks.
