Fair enough… but impact will potentially be more than a year out…but also welcome comment on some tangible benefits of Brexit? Are there any outside of this perceived swing towards greater democracy and the illusion of sovereignty?

also is it not common sense to prepare as best we can for the worst case scenarios… given that doing nothing and living in hope that it will all be fine is a bit of head in sand…?

Will also depend upon transition period arrangements and soft brexit, if they occur.

Wage rises are already happening. House prices are heading downward. Bored of saying it now, but supply and demand, init.

Soft Brexit is a contradiction in terms.

Or as Master Yoda says, do or do not.

There is no try.

Meh, if I am right, I wouldn’t expect anyone here to acknowledge it. Certainly didn’t happen with the wage rises.

Wages rises = Good but needs to be sustainable and relative to inflationary impact of an increase in costs of goods as a result of tariffs and increased logistics time at borders … simple economics init

House prices heading downwards - this is NOT the way to ensure affordable housing which is badly needed… falling prices can leave many in negative equity and leads to defaults on changing circumstances - and this is not just a few millionaires in London, but a huge number of ordinary working people… the worst case scenario is a big huge amount of toxic debt which as we saw in 2006-2008 this is not good… Macro economics init
(NB> its a bit naive (and 'smash-the-system-socialist-worker utter bollocks) to think this is just a way to fuck with stupid people who have over leveraged… ordinary folks have had to stretch themselves to get home… that is not a luxury, but a necessity… it is these folks that will be impacted most so not sure flippant comments that are a bit ‘fuck-em’ is a fair or rational response)

There are sadly many, for whom their property is also their only asset, with limited Government pension provision, many need their equity to support their elderly care. Again its an example of how on the surface such ‘sticking it to the man’ might be attractive, but its always the less well off that suffer - desire for social justice init

Bored with saying it to - Supply and demand is only one contributor to both wage rises and house price inflation/deflation - not to acknowledge that is a bit O’level economics init

I think we’d all already guessed @Barry-Sanchez was one of those capitalist fat cats, the sort who can afford subscriptions to the elitist media…

Well the Government are to issue No Deal advice… say it’s all scare stories… Labour call a No deal ‘Catastophic’ … who do we believe?

Any Labour supporters who are adamant that it’s all project fear care to comment on their Party’s statement?

No deal Brexit advice

Oh, come on Mapotasi this is more Project Fear stuff.

Don’t you know everything is going to be just fine and everyone is going to have a job and incomes are due to be going to go through the roof…Don’t even mention those pesky immigrants- I think that I may have even read all about it in great detail already on this forum… we are surely at the forefront of debate and opinion.

Well, Juncker does bear a passing resemblance to the stoic little fucker and I suspect he may say the same thing to the UK team.

Yes, that is a very mature way to respond to people’s wages going up.

I would say to all the doom-sayers, enjoy your last year on Sotonians.

We had very similar predictions about Jeremy Corbyn’s chances in elections. He’s still around in British public life. Those that assured us that he’d be obliterated, with the exception of perhaps @WorzelScummage, no longer post here.

Chased out by prior versions of themselves.

You’ll have guessed then that I’m not into holier than thou, po -faced, sanctimonious politics @pap

But how do feel that the Labour Party spokesman has stated a no deal Brexit would be ‘catastrophic’… presume this is also JCs perspective… So when we remainers say it we are ‘doomsayers’ in effect full of shit, but when The official Labour Party says it, you ignore it, or are they full of shit as well?

Indeed…
