I asked what you were looking ‘forward’ to Barry, does not have to be happening right now. I ask this as I assume those happy with new reality, want to actually experience the benefits of it, so its a fair question
Yes and I believe I have answered that, this is the 3rd time in an hour.
Self determination.
Accountability.
More democracy.
These are not tangible - put it this way
Self determination - what are you looking forward to self determining, that you will impact you and that you could not have done prior to Brexit?
Your question was loaded and stupid for a start, tangible?
How the fuck can I answer that when we’ve been in a week and there is a lockdown on?
Its the ideology behind it that appealed.
You haven’t answered what you’ve lost tangibly either.
Fucks sake.
Stop trying to be clever using weasel words, we’ve left, fucking accept it you fanny, we’re not in anymore, move if you’re that upset but quit bitching, its fucking brutal man.
I think there’s a big difference between supporting the institution and supporting the incumbent government.
I’ve some answers that are applicable this week.
Your vote now covers:-
- Food supply
- International trade agreements
- Control over how many people get to immigrate to the UK
- Whether or not we can nationalise things or prop up key industries
- Pretty much every law you are subject to
You didn’t have that in December 2019.
You are still missing the point to be honest, It was about tangible benefits to the average person…
you mention food supply - how is that realistically going to become better for average person? You think it will become cheaper, but there is no current mechanism or proposal that will support this. Market forces will dictate food prices, not EU membership, so what specific policies can you point to that with high degree of certainty will mean a benefit for the average person?
Same goes for the others
Sure we control who and how many folks come into the UK… but the numbers are not going to suddenly change the lives of millions of our poorest… I am sure you will mention catering and services etc, but these are low wage jobs, that will remind so… not the longer term opportunities that we need?
Nationalize and prop up key industries… are be back in the 70s? it was that approach to continually propping up failing industries that fucked our industry, the lack of innovation and progress resulting from OTT union expectation saw us producing cars that nobody wanted… as for nationalisation…
As to every law? which laws made by the EU are you looking forward for us being able to change that will make your day-to-day life better?
I ask this questions about tangible benefit, because you and others have continually suggested that the people wanted Brexit because of concepts of sovereignty and control over all these macro decisions… I am suggesting that when average person in the street sees only ‘negative’ tangible change, perhaps only price increases for key goods, higher unemployment and all the smaller hassles of with travel/holidays etc, you will see those ‘noble concepts’ crumble…
Conceptually yes, practically not really. As always what makes most important difference is what actual decisions are made, not the type of institution, its location or its perceived ‘flavour’
cough
Joking aside, my time working in corporate in the ME was a nightmare due to the blinkered nature of numpties within Corporate logistics.
(Where my aversion to MBS’s partly came from.)
These people moved boxes DDP Delivered duty paid all across the EU.
To ship OUTSIDE they simply could not compute that they didnt simply press buttons on an Oracle program.
We had shipments seized all the time, airfreights booked for 50 ton packages the works.
Al the international systems were in place, the employees were simply programmed to follow EU process.
It took at least 2 years before they found a specialist logistics partner. Something they could have done but computer said no.
I am sure in amongst the horror stories of rotting fish, there will be many more where a simple understanding of managing (or being open to) change would solve the issues.
Cobham doesn’t need to open a company, just switch to FOB change paperwork ,& use a partner to ship direct to Rotterdam is a simplistic example
And this is the thing. It’s a new set of rules, and it’s not unusual to have the follow new guidance in normal day to day life, inside or outside the EU.
Got no problem with rules. It’s when I have no input into them I get upset. If I think a rule at work is stupid, I can and will argue against it, and that’s in the dictactorship of WORK!
They pay me to be there, and I still want a say.
If it’s me paying, I definitely want my say.
Yes that’s what the MBAs said.
My reply was “get on a plane, I’ll get you a meeting at Ports & Customs”
The sheer arrogance that one person could change rules that had been in place for decades…
Eventually their arrogance cost over $150k.
I told them clearly to place a packing list on the OUTSIDE of the pallet wrap on EVERY Pallet.
They put 1 packing list inside the wrap on 1 pallet.
Whole shipment siezed & eventually destroyed.
It takes time.
Also for the past 2 years I’ve been working with Trade Dev guys here to advise SMBs how to get shit done simply & cheaply with branch offices, partners etc., drop shipments, trans shipments FOB etc.
Nothing. Not one client.
The number of requests this week alone “for a chat” is into double figures.
They all get the same answer. Call the office, sign an engagement letter, we can talk.
Nada.
It’s cheaper to moan
I think you need to get this chip ff the shoulder… you could say the same about any inexperienced graduate/post grad recruits. If they make errors consistently, then those at fault are their managers and the idiots who employed them if they dont progress and develop…
If folks with MBAs are putting packing lists of pallets (or not), I suggest then that is a serious waste of resource and buck stops with those making the decision to employ them.
Please dont start me on their Managers!
I had a team member, did her MBA in 10 months & won EMEA sales person of the year with a 200% increase in revenue & an average customer rating of 9.7 out of 10
She is now running a company in Spain with 200 employees. Not bad for a 42 year old Russian kid.
She doesn’t mention her MBA on LinkedIn.
So glad we are getting round to demonstrating we have our country back in such excellent ways… this will show em!
Blimey. These chips on shoulders seem as contagious as COVID.
It’s a good job we’ve folk about that can detect the condition. Might have gotten right our of hand otherwise.
Damn, I’d love the chance to have a plate of chip shop chips right now…
Can you pipe down please?
I’m trying to nibble the doubled-fried on my epaulette.
