I was talking generally not specifically
As to you other point - give me back the common market and I will bite your hand off
All the political shite they can keep
Such as the Benn Act. It is an entirely unconstitutional piece of legislation, has been subject to no Parliamentary scrutiny and was neither proposed nor agreed by the government.
This means that the only people theoretically able to hold these MPs to account are their constituents. In reality, these politicians will not vote for the General Election to make themselves accountable.
Amazingly, supporters of this sorry cohort claim the government has been undemocratic because it wanted to prorogue Parliament, precisely to prevent them from causing this kind of trouble.
Trouble? how is not agreeing with a shit deal causing trouble? Is it not ‘anti-democratic’ to suggest such a thing?
You are not alone with that, but as we know, the price if that is most likely freedom of movement… sadly its become an urban myth that this is drain on our resources and screwing our job seekers…

Not necessarily aimed at you but this is big problem with the whole Brexit debacle… it’s all so generic high level arguments - when we needed detail that was not available, known or deliberately withheld (‘we have had enough of experts’)
If there is legislation that we are not happy and could have been better made at home, what is it?
If business can be liberated by lack of restrictions, what restrictions? (CBI and other business institutions all see in favour of remain or at at least in the common market)
See is it too much to ask for the details that most Brexiteers are pissed off about? After all such a lot was made these restrictions on business, yet you have the likes of Pap going on about how it’s was just a business club… (generating wealth is not a bad thing, it’s a good thing as if you tax it fairly and correctly it enables better public services and more socially fair policy… fuck all divided by millions is still fuck all…)
We all want greater equality, fairness in distribution of wealth, greater opportunity for the young and achievable aspirations for all… BUT all we seem to have so far is;
Lack of freedom of movement to satisfy the bigoted
Lack of a single market to open up trade with … US
Reduced environmental restrictions which means shite products from US
Reduced workers rights to enable trade with more shitty regimes
What else is there in the detail that would get many to question how they voted ?
So I need someone to show me the benefits apart from being able to say Sovereignty is king and we got our country back… there are plenty of nations out there who have sovereignty and are in the shit who would gladly give it up if it meant more wealth generation opportunity that if taxed correctly could help their people… our imperial legacy and class system is what holds us back, not the EU…
Fine, but at some point it becomes a major break with reality. I think we’re long past that point with regard to yourself.
Besides, the referendum result has been more than superseded by the WA, which made exiting the European Union a matter of law. Unlike the Benn Act, this had full Parliamentary scrutiny.
Thanks for the confirmation that you don’t give your consent for a democratic result to be observed. By definition, that is pretty anti-democratic.
Whatever, label me as you wish, but I am not going to be bullied into accepting shit just because you say so… You have a tendency to provide your opinion as one sort of orthodoxy, yet you seem to question very little in the orthodoxy you follow… not a healthy way to develop opinion… your patronising tone is legendary and for all to see, so no need to dwell on that really…
Really? Is it a break in reality to expect detail when making such decisions? Most of those with an ounce of logic would accept that details are important… just as with sweeping statements like the ‘removal of restrictions’ it means fuck all unless you provide context …that IS REALITY. Because quite simply its all the same spin you say you detest yet seem to have fallen for? ‘Restriction’s’ has become a buzz word for all that is wrong with the EU for British Business… yet what are they? please enlighten us. PS could not. Or is the reality more complex? That yes indeed there are some restrictions that when lifted could benefit certain industries, yet many that are in place are thereto protect them too? to protect the environment, workers rights, H and S?
Details fucking matter, no matter what Gove other twats like him have hoodwinked many into accepting… this whole debate has been generic, and deliberately so to fool those who would otherwise question the validity of the arguments…
So you throw more of your little ‘anti-democratic’ slurs my way … please do, because if having a desire to question and ask for rational detail is anti-democratic , then I am fucking glad I am…
Details are important, but if we’re being quite honest, you can have too much of a good thing and no-one person knows everything.
I think the sort of detail you want borders on prophecy and the sort of futures you envisage predicated on total lethargy and zero agency on the part of the British government or public in making the transition.
You’d be as well asking “what will life be like” as"what will life after Brexit be like".
The answer is the same, and would have been the same if we’d voted Remain.
Uncertain. As it ever was, as we’ve all been used to all our lives.
This Remainer requirement for a near prophetic meticulous vision for this issue alone baffles me.
Nope, but when someone says we will remove the the restrictions holding back britain business, I feel we should all be asking which ones? And what are the implications of doing so? Without that knowledge we are merely puppets in whatever cuntish games those fuckers have been playing all along…
As the a ginger haired rather perceptive bloke once said ‘Ever get the feeling you’ve been conned?’
Not being able to offer state aid to industry has already been shown to be a huge problem. There are industries we need to keep for strategic reasons, but will be winding down due to commercial considerations brought about by globalisation. Steel is a good example.
The majority of the public believes public transport needs to be brought back under public control. State aid could sort that. State aid rules inhibit it.
This sounds like small beer, but transport really is the glue of business. A subsidised public transport system widens the pool of labour to employers. People can and will travel further.
Not being able to get a cohesive nationalised public transport system back is mostly down to EU state aid rules, but also a huge lack of political will amongst recent incumbents of Number 10.
Oddly enough, state aid rules don’t seem to prevent us from owning Network Rail, or French and German public entities from holding vast shares in our privatised train operating companies.
The forgotten North will do for Southern Labour, no one else, Johnson knows this.
What about Irelands competitive tax rates thats made them wealthy? That is the elephant in the room.
Ironically we can’t own theirs, against the law, strange that.
In simple terms the EU has not benefited the most deprived areas and what areas voted Brexit?
Leave Lydon out of this.
If you ever wondered what happened to Joe Beazley of Joe Beazley and Cheeky Monkey infamy…
He calls himself Jeff Taylor these days.
No Cheeky Monkey. No natural skills of the presenter. He’s doing livestreams, bless him.
Bercow needs putting in his place. He’s interfered far too much already, gone way beyond his remit and shouldn’t be tolerated any longer. There must be some way of removing the jumped up little git.
He’s retiring on the 31st.
