Even by his phenomenally high standards, that’s just brilliant. So much going on in there.

Boris has lost N Shropshire

34% swing to the Libs, 22 k majority lost, first time MP is not a Tory for 200 years

Not sure that was the history that Boris dreamt about making

The sounds of knives being sharpened coming from the 1922 committee room

Unbelievable result, but thoroughly deserved. I know Helen Morgan well and the last few weeks have been an incredible journey with such a committed amazing team. It was a privilege to be on her campaign team.

Whatever your political leanings, there’s no denying the LibDems know how to do by-elections! The complexity and detail of the campaign were amazing. I was only a small cog, but it feels great.

It’s a good win that’s for sure, although if I were her I wouldn’t get too comfortable at Westminster- I suspect normal service will resume at a GE

One hell of a protest vote

Exactly - what a great way to tell the Tories to get rid of Boris.

Bravo.
Well done @Shroppie & team

Absolutely right. But she’s got until the next GE to prove herself and show what a committed local MP can do.

But it will be a massive struggle to hold it.

It was your leafleting in all weathers that was key obvs.

Boris is toast - no way he can get back from this

I’ve said before that I would never vote for the Tories whilst he remains in charge and it seems I am not alone in that conviction

No 10 is going to be a very lonely place this Christmas

So who’s going to take over? Rishi? Be interesting considering the massive conflict of interests that he’s resided over during his tenure as Chancellor (essentially IR35, and the way he’s treated Limited Companies).

And I made it onto BBC News.

If you can spot me.
