I agree, it’s an attractive idea. :+1:

It’s all kicking off in London. Far right ā€˜patriots’ sieg-hailing and giving nazi salutes at the statue of the man they say single handedly stopped us all from having to salute like a Nazi. Protecting the statue from those who don’t seem to be there. Surreal. Police coming under attack with bottles. smoke bombs etc. The anti-racist groups that called off their protest made a wise call, good for the rest of us to see the defenders of British heritage in all their glory. The BBC and most of the media tying themselves in knots trying not to refer to fascists as fascists. You can always rely on the good old BBC. ’ Police are pelted with bottles during confrontations with groups including right -wing activists’ . There’s nobody else there!
No doubt Johnson will be along shortly to tell us there are good people on both sides.
Just imagine how this looks to the rest of the civilized world. great look England.
The thousands of comments on this live stream are very troubling. The country is falling apart before our eyes.

Two sides of the same coin, both not representative of the larger part of the UK’s thoughts.
As I said last week the extreme left high black lives matter and the extreme far right are highjacking genuine concerns about statues.
And in all of this genuine fundamental needed change will get overlooked, that’s what I think both these extremes want though.

With a bit of luck their lack of social distancing will see the facist cunts with more to worry about than than their pot bellies and ignorance…

You’re lovely.

Thought you might have a bit of sympathy for them …

One of Britain’s finest. These are scary times in the UK, you are better off out of it Phil.
These fascists think their day has come, emboldened by a Prime Minister who has openly stated racist views which in their eyes makes him ā€˜one of them’. Johnson supporters to a man. And yes, i’ll say it, emboldened by Brexit and all the anti-immigrant rhetoric that was whipped up during the referendum campaign. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Watching an old lady climb stairs to raise £400k on Sky News
How much do we reckon those pricks fighting the Police today & last week have raised?
Any advance on fuck all?

The thing is they’re all cunts, the left and right are so inbred, selfish and stupid yes stupid they can’t concede.

If left and right are stupid etc, are we to assume that you’re middle of the road centrist?

I’m not sure of the context of this photo but I can’t help feeling it’s immensely powerful.

It’s the casual superiority of the man that is the most disturbing.

I understand that as a journalist and sketchwriter he’s looking to entertain, but these are clearly his views.

And now he’s our Prime Minister.

Those were my thoughts exactly.

He was having a beer-piss and chose a spot that had a significance he didn’t appreciate.

But if you want to remove the headlines about the otherwise violent, racist, Nazi-sympathising, EDL-supporting behaviour of the crowd yesterday, then you’d ensure that the story is a non-story about the desecration of a monument to one of our finest during a protest against last week’s riots.

That’s how it’s being portrayed.

And as KG Murthy posed on Twitter, where have we heard the mantra of ā€œthere are bad people on both sidesā€ which our politicians and press have boiled it down to?

I wonder who’d be Prime Minister if we’d left the EU on time.
