šŸ‘Ø šŸ‘ØšŸ½ šŸ‘ØšŸæ Black Lives Matter protest

If you want history lessons not a view or political position I’m available son for Ā£55 an hour.

I ask again, what the fuck has the extreme left got to do with anything?

I know you’ve been on a little sojourn and have probably spent your time on your favourite neo-Nazi websites.

Did you learn this line of argument there? Did the sites mention when it might be appropriate?

Pap, tread carefully with your accusations.

I was replying to Polski concerning reform of the education system which has helped to divide this Country, the extreme left in my reply and I stand by that wouldn’t have the stomach to close down schools.

Where what might be appropriate?

If you’re going to join in then at least make sense.

Does racism only occur when the right are in power, then?

I want Rhodes to come down for sure and all the others but these bellends are beyond help, when this calms down and we get serious conversation do I want a tit like that representing my views?

Cognitive dissonance or ignorance in knowing World events and history I’d point that to concerning young Pap.

You fail to grasp the subtlety and pardon the pun seem to see this all a black and white… you forget that its not religious schools ( and i say this as an atheist/humanist) but if prejudices are taught within them … by all means close stuff down that is advocating hate, but that does not apply to all schools and should be equally applied wherever such teaching is found… but the real issue is not schools, its at home/parents, especially in nice white christian fundamentalists who conveniently forget there own hate speech that AIDS was a disease from god to kill gays, whilst having a go at Islamic fundamentalist teachings for saying the same thing…

The real issue is schools, we can’t teach ignorant parents at home but we can teach their kids in schools to be more open and understanding of one another, this Country in the vast majority is secularist as well so its a huge contradiction to actually send them there for a more closed minded education.
The last paragraph of your rant was utter conjecture and shite by the way, leave white out and just put Christian as we were discussing faith, your veil slipped there…

Nope, but Barry has a habit of mentioning the extreme left regardless, despite Britain not having any governance that could be characterised as such, unless he’s saying Attlee was as bad as Pol Pot or Stalin.

I was lucky enough to go to school with many BAME kids. Urban comprehensive init.

I was lucky enough to go to forces schools in Germany, loads of common people of all colours init … Officers kids sent to boarding schools in UK… but loads of pisstaking 70s casual racism… thankfully parents taught me what was right…

I see Harry Enfield is the latest to ā€˜provoke uproar’ from the the professional takers of offence for an interview he did with Nick Robinson on the Today program this morning. I have read the transcript of the interview and surely people taking offence are deliberately ignoring his stated position. Historical context is all. Naming a music hall comedian by his actual stage name is not being racist. The sad thing is that people’s determination to be offended, no matter what, utterly obscures real and genuine racism.
Was Lenny Henry imitating David Bellamy racist? Ginger beard, mocking his speech impediment. Or the Goodness Gracious Me sketch, ā€œGoing Out for an Englishā€, where they make fun of a waiter for his ā€œpastyā€ skin? Or is just a good laugh, a bit of gentle mockery.
There is a proud tradition of satirical comedy in this country, where offensive words and behaviour have to be quoted, so that they can be mocked and ridiculed. Just because some people cannot comprehend irony is no reason to stop comedians ridiculing offensive words and those who use them, to make their points. Harry Enfield’s career is defined by irony.
These people may think that they mean well, but there is a danger here of a vocal and well connected minority imposing a cultural fascism on the majority.

I mentioned them with relevance to the conversation, you mentioned them without thinking.

Its sad but the response to this mock, shock indignation by the masses will be a pettiness to absolutely everything like your examples, people will trawl through everything and everyone mentioned and find something to be offended by, the good someone did all through their lives fuck that they had a row on a bad day in 1968 and swore at someone, their lives taken apart by some morally outraged warrior who doesn’t really care anyway.
Everyone will now be under a microscope, the metropolitan extreme left are driving this by and large make no mistake about this and its driven by class war not a righteous one.

The Mandela stuff was genius. It was never about race. The whole joke is about the venerated Mandela supposedly being involved in things way below his station.

I think we get that but the professionally morally outraged don’t, did Mandela complain or did anyone else before last week do so?
If people were genuinely upset then it should have been addressed but were there any complaints?

It’s getting to the stage where it is genuinely counter-productive now.

If Fawlty Towers goes, all hell will break loose.

Citizen Khan will get taken down to appease everyone…

Didn’t the bbc remove the Major’s remarks in Fawlty? The ā€œNo, that’s the West Indians…these people are wogs!!ā€ lines. I vaguely recall that they’ve cut that scene for screenings for some time now.
