The US also has an obligation to help Taiwan defend itself. As I said earlier this will infuriate the Chinese, the last thing they want is a spotlight on their corner of the globe, that is all this is doing, their shady grab of SCS will have a bright light on it, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines will be a bit happier at some reassurance though.
Pap, this has been done to put pressure on the Russian/Chinese relationship, its called politics and it will work, Russia is a pariah state and only shithouse nations are siding with Putin, China will slowly put itself a away from them.

And the internal border dispute for arguments sake (I disagree) between China/Taiwan totally exposes China’s argument in supporting Russia, Ukraine isn’t in Russia’s border so its an external war, something of a anathema for Chinese history and politics, China has always said internal politics are sovereign so they’re contradicting themselves in seemingly supporting Russia’s invasion.

Biden knows this and is actually playing a shrewd game, realpolitik at its finest.

There is no war and no one certainly wants that but Taiwan have the right to defend themselves and the US has the right to help them, Biden is only saying what people already knew, you call it sabre rattling as you’re not on a western perspective, I call it street wise.
